I need at least 2 if not 3 batteries for all my key fobs as the 2 spare are dead and have been for yonks, and the main one is looking like it coul ddo with one too.

So, does anyone know what type of battery and how much they are? I presume Toyota could do it as more local and I think fob is the same as theirs.

And, I presume that you can just whip the old ones out and put the new ones in? i.e. no settings/codes get lost or reset?

I bought some of these a while ago mainly because they're even the same brand as standard ...

Bazza
most local watchmakers or electronic shops do them

and they are not expensive
Chris.S
couple of quid, just need the 4 digit number off the back of the battery to get the right one

umm, my fobs say Denso 1516 on them not 1616. Guess will just whip the battery out and check!
TonyGoose
Just checked my keys for that too. On the back it says 'Denso 1512V'.
I've had 2 of the 3 keys to bits and both had a Panasonic CR1616 battery inside.
Getting a bit nervous now. Hope I'm not misinforming you

Yes they are CR1616, I just got two last week from an electronics wholesaler locally in Manchester for 50p each. :whistling:
I have spotted them on ebay for about £2-£3 delivered.

What ever you do dont ask the dealer, they quoted me £68 for two batteries fitted along with plenty of bull***t about the keys dropping the code and need re-coding. :shutit:
I just took both of them out myself, replaced with new ones and they both worked perfect.

sorry, mine also says 1512V not 1516V! My memory is going!!

Cheers, will take back off one to double check battery type but am guessing it will be the same as you have all said.
arty-is200sport
just done mine any 1616 will do the job £2:50 from my locale market

Just ordered 3 from Ebay for £3.75.
Rob
you need to read what is on the battery not what is on the case. Denso 1512v refers to the blade/key type AFAIK

I did mine last week, 1616's at £1 each... bargin!

So basically, if you get per of CR1616s and fit them by unscrewing the key at the back of it, that should do the trick?

I always believed that if you replace the battery then you need to reprogram the chips inside...

Well I've changed the batteries in my keys for my IS200 a few times now and I have never had to re-program the keys?
