Hi all

I'm pondering buying either a 2000 or 2001 IS200 Sport. The Sport is fairly rare in Ireland with plenty of used standard IS200's and IS200 Executive's (same as the UK SE??) but used Sports are hard to come by.

I got a call from a Lexus dealer today saying that he had a 2000 reg Platinum IS200 Sport. He says it has a sunroof, alloy pedals and scuff plates, LSD, 17" 5 Spoke Alloys, but it DOESN'T have the half leather interior.

I was under the impression that all 2000/2001 Sports had half leather coz any I've seen did. Could this car possibly not be a Sport and perhaps just a standard IS200 with some of the extras of the Sport added on??

What is the best way for me to tell them apart?

ask to see history / and log book

rear spoiler and rear tints are normally give away from outside the car. ask to see log book that will tell you what it is

So am I right in thinking that it SHOULD have half leather??

All of the UK SE and Sports do in the UK, only the base 'S' doesn't.

do you get UK cars, or europe cars?

the reason why i ask this is that you mentioned the IS200 executive, which is a europe model, and isnt entirely the same as the UK SE.

and in europe the IS200 Sport does not have the half leather as standard but the executive does

in UK both SE and Sport have half leather

in addition, in europe the electric seats and 8 speaker stereo are also options, whereas standard in UK. compare these to the cars you've seen

I have an IS200 Sport here in Ireland (00), it doesn't have the spoiler or half leather, but has everything else and is "sport" on the log book.

I also picked up a 99 IS200 Sport here in Ireland. Has the Half-leather but no spoiler .

i was told when buying a toyota hi-ace van to buy it in ireland because they came with all the extras which the uk one didnt

doesnt seem the same with lexus
or maybe its just n.ireland

Now you got me thinking .... rang a few places and came across a set of half leather seats for sale. (Door cards also)
However my question is this. ..... The seats are electically controlled, so is there a block under the carpet to plug into, as my seats are manually adjustable ???
