Hi,

I notice that some new (and unmodded) ISs have smoked rear lights.

Now, this might go against popular opinion, but to me it just likes there's been a blown bulb

Are these standard on all new ISs, an option, or does it depend on the colour?

far as i am aware all new ones come with smoked rears other than silver ones

Lexus calls them privacy windows. I think it makes cars look unbalanced and one expects to see a mafiosa type sitting in the back!
I do not like them and would not have them on any of my cars.

I think they look better, especially with the JDM black headlights

Plus, now the corsa/fiesta brigade all have rear lights copying the IS, it might be nice to have something a bit different.

Mine are smoked. I thought it was down to the colour of the car with the dark colours having the smoked rear lenses.

i got them too and they the the dogs b******s on a dark car, shame you cant get dark side repeaters or am i wrong?

I think they look better and are easy to fit and are surprisingly cheap (for a lexus part).

Yep...i think both give the car a much better look....gonna be getting the headlights soon myself!!

All new IS200s now have smoked rear light clusters except Platinum Ice (according to dealer). I have them on mine and they look coooool
