better then so called golf gti..that now exist nice to see pug keeping to the old school of hot hatch...

If you're looking for a a direct replacement for the 205, forget it; it's much more benign (probably a good thing...) but they do say that compared to the other Peugeot hot hatches - 205, 306 and 106 it pales..

It's somewhere around 15 or 16k

its probably toned down a lot compared to the 205 kind of like the changes that VW have made to the Golf I guess.

Could I have a Honda Civic Type-R instead?

It's never going to beat a Honda with a VTEC-R engine!

It's also never going to have the cult status of the Honda let alone the 205GTI

Coming soon to a motorway hard shoulder near you....
