guys,

Is there much iof a differnece between the sport version of is200 and non sport version?

apart from the rear tints, and spoiler,... i understand the sport version has sports suspension too.. so im guessing the handling would be better than the standard?

what about the gearbox? or accelaration?

thanks,

Izzy

all the same apart from diff. even the suspension on the later models was the same it was only the earlier models that were different. apart from that you get tinted windows at the back with a sports logo

Main difference in the Sport is the LSD, otherwise the differences are mainly cosmetic.

The suspension is mostly the same, it's just that the Sport is lower, pre 01 they were 10mm lower than standard, post 01 they were 15mm lower than standard.

And the other one just have a standard diff?

And what kind of LSD do the IS 200 have?
Its snow on the roads here and one day when i was going to make i u turn i noticed that it felt like only one wheel was spinning (3000rpm) why?

Sometimes when my back wheels start spinning(driving uphill) i hear this noise (not very loud) that reminds me of ABS brakes that only last for half a second. Is it because of the LSD?
Parthiban
Yep the others have a normal diff, only the sport has an LSD - I believe it's a Torsen one but not 100% on that.

That noise when your wheels start spinning is the traction control I think - mine does the same but I don't have an LSD.
Asi
the noise is the traction control mate. had it before i put the diff one and after
Solhatt
Okay thanks :)
Hmmm okay the Torsen differential will work as an open differential if one wheel is airborne. I guess that's why my car was spinning on one wheel only (wicked slippery road)

see how the sport is 15mm lower than standard is200.... would this just be springs lexus have changed or would it be a WHOLE coiler kit?
nedsram13a
Guessing just the springs.

Also, the later sports had aluminium pedals etc. The later SE's came with rear spoilers, and tinted windows are only around £170 over here for the rear and the two back windows
