Hi,

Sorry about this simpleton question, but can you explain in easy terms how I
can attach a JPEG from my C drive to a post.

Thanks

Mike - IT :tsktsk: WIT

Hi Mike,

You can't do it mate.

You have to upload the picture into the gallery, then link to the URL (make sure you get the URL from the Pictures Properties and not the gallery page).

you can do it..... like this though:

when you reply to a post, there is a "file attachments" section atb the bottom below the smilies. Press the browse button and your image will be linked like this....:

This is the error message I get everytime I try to add a picture from the gallery

I click on the IMG button, enter on the full URL including the extension and then end with IMG.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's never worked for me

I've had this problem recently - inline images using the IMG function seem erratic. It's fine to add a 100k attachement though.

Used to work.... :mat:

Ifraz

that image is not in the gallery buddy.

nothing wrong with the tags you used in the post - its just the file is not on the server.

the forum software puts user posted image into the post when this happens.

Matt,

If I insert a hyperlink to an image, it works fine Image
But when I try to display the same image within the text I get the error. [img]http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/album08/aai.jpg[/img]

Ifraz,

Are you linking to the image or the page that the image is on??

Try right-clicking on the image..
Select properties..
Copy the location URL..
Paste this as your image location..

Ian.
Matthew_McNally
to be serious though mate ( ;) ) - the image you are linking to is the full size - HUGE - one.

its prolly to big - the forum softwarelimits image size.

for big images like that - get the properties of the thumbnail- you'll have no problems then

Hi Ifraz.
This is with your link
[img]http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/album08/DSCN0017_001.jpg[/img]
I have added /albums/ in between /gallery/ and /album08/
[img]http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/albums/album08/DSCN0017_001.jpg[/img]

If you use the method I suggested above, it should work..

spot on Ian

;)

have to be aware of the size constraint as well though.

the second image Ifraz tried had the correct path - but was failing because the image was larger than 1000k.

for large images - your instructions are still valid - but they need to be applied to the smaller thumbnail image - or the same problem will occur.
