Heading back to work tomorrow after a nice nearly two week break so I decided to make the car at least a little bit presentable and do a good job cleaning it.

1. De-iced it and defrosted it using about 6 buckets of hot water
2. Washed it using a maguires wash-mit and auto glym car shampoo
(Cleared garage of all the tools and saw dust in the way!)
3. Dried the car using an Aldi brand chamois
4. Applied some Rain-X (had it lying around) to the windows all around
5. Put on Car Plan tyre blackening spray
6. Used maguires clay bar and spray
7. Wiped car down with polishing cloth
8. Applied the wax that came with the clay kit (not sure what its called)
9. Polished car

Noticed some small smudges when I got it out into the daylight and fixed those before calling it a day.
Sorry about some of the pictures being on their side, I couldn't figure out how to turn them on their side once uploaded and I wasn't bothered enough to do it all again!!

Some pictures below:

Next job is to install a grom unit (when it arrives) and paint the brake calipers black.

Nice work :) ive been meaning to wash my car for almost 3 weeks now but its soo damn cold outside!!! did you get round to painting your Calipers? ive heard of Rain-X, is it any good? also have you thought about putting some polish on your alloys? ive always been thinking about it but by the time car is all washed im too knackered to do anymore.

Does your car look like that now? or has the awful weather taken its tole?

Hey mate, Rain-X is pretty good. Use to use it all the time and works really well when its pouring down. Applying it is easy. I tried a new product now called Permanon which you put on the whole car including the alloys. It seals the pours in the paint work so makes the water slide off instantly. Cuts the cleaning time down by half and brake dust is alot easier to wash off.

I worked out if you go more than 100km/hr in the rain the water just beads off the windscreen and no need to use your windscreen wipers. Just do it on the motorways though!
