Hi i have recently bought a 1997 Gs300 auto and i love it, The problem i have is whilst the dipped beam seems ok, when i put high beam on the spread of light is no further than on dip just brighter, On dark lanes you have to be extra vigilant, For a performance car i have never seen headlights so poor. Is there anything that can be done with them? Are everybodys gs headlights poor? As i say i love the car and would really like to have better lights, I know about upgrades but at the moment my headlights cant be set up right i dont think and when they are right i'll probably then look into bulb upgrades. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Dylan.

Sounds like they just need adjusting up.

I tried adjusting today and while the headlights on dip seem to have risen the high beam still seems to be lighting the area round the front of the car, The car has not had a front ender(first thing i checked for) i'm getting confuzzled :) i'll get to the bottom of it.

Edit : Just found this

I was going to say that they are both adjustable independently. Not easy to get to mind you, but still do-able.

Just found this again, After months of driving with carp headlights i decided if need be i was going to strip the lot down, There was no need to, The high beam bulb had not been put in properly by previous owner so after much knuckle scraping, swearing, sweating i managed to get my fat little fingers in far enough to put it in properly, The result is a decent beam at last B)
