Hello, I've just bought a 2004 IS200 Sport, 32k miles, 2 owners & Lexus service history. Paid £6950 for it which seemed a good price. Really enjoying driving it despite the rubbish weather recently, & I had to join the LOC of course :D - excellent forum.

I do have a question for the experts in the LOC. Having read through loads of LOC posts, I understood that the cambelt needed changing at 6 years/60k miles whichever is soonest. However, my Lexus service handbook states that the cambelt should be changed at 100k miles - no mention of a time period at all. Did Lexus change the IS canbelt system from 2004 to make the replacement requirement less frequent?
