every now and again with the last 3 or 4 weeks, when i go over a bump a single bong sound comes from the front of the car.
sounds like the coil spring but i can't see anything wrong with it.
i did change the shocks 2 months ago and i didn't notice the sound before then.
anyone experienced the same thing or some advise please??

Hi,
I have a problem that sounds very similar if not the same. Sometimes if I go over a big bump whilst turning left I hear like a "tho-ing" sound from the front drivers side!
I have checked ball joints upper & lower for play, arb drop links (new ones fitted with TRD arbs), springs for damage and if seated correctly and everything else around that area.
I also changed shocks about 10 months ago with TTE lowering springs.
I am now exploring stuff like dodgy shock, bonnet play, mounts and any bushes for the shocks. As it only happens every now and again and I don’t use my car all the time it’s not been a major issue. Although when it does happen it sounds really serious!
Would love to get to the bottom of it and will let you know if I locate the problem.

thanks abbas, yeah i'm finding these lexus' tricky enough to sort when there is a noise or rattle.
any time i try and sort out a noise, end up nearly ripping the whole car apart before i find it.

Hey how's it goin. I'm a newbie here n just bought the wife a 09 is250 with 9000 miles on it. I as well noticed every time I go over a bump or turn in a parking lot a thump noise. It sounded like it was coming from behind the sun roof then from the front. We have had the car for 3 days n it's irritating as heck. I'm at the dealer right now gettin it checked out. Has anyone else had this problem b4?you would think the money people spend on these cars that this problem wouldn't exsist.
