Bought a lexus IS200 SE today - what an amazing car, truly impressed!!! But only after fiddle with all the buttons, the FM radio doesnt work. The Medium wave is fine, but the radio will not pick up any FM stations at all - and words of advice?

Quick question is it new, if not is it an import?

Only I think on some imported cars ( yanks for deffo ) the wavelenghts and gaps are different on fm.

If it's new then check the aerial is connected OK & take back to dealer.

Hi - Its a UK Model. I thought I'd have to take it back to a dealer! I suppose theres no easy way of removing the stereo to check the aerial cable?

Shouldn't matter if it is UK or North American, Uk works on 11Khz banding and North American on 10Khz. Just means that sometimes maynot be able to lock onto the station for best reception.

Take it to a dealer as the antenna system is a diversity antenna system on the Lexus, e.g. it has two aerials, one on the top of the roof and the other intergrated into the back windshield. Could be either of them playing up or both, e.g. feed into the back of the audio system is damaged.

So much for having the car PDI'd before delivery!

I similar prob but dealer found out before picking car up [u]they [/u]sorted it out, but was without radio for a fortnight i also got a full tank of petrol for my inconvenience

If you can get MW then the aerial is plugged into the back of the radio ok.
It sounds like an internal fault with the radio.. take it back to the dealer.[/color]
