Just to let you know. Purchased 98 SE. All magnificent except for vibrations 70 mph+.
Took back to dealer who said they had solved it. Only slightly. Took car to CENTRAL TYRES (Leicester). Full wheel balance. £20. Now it drives - no glides - as if on air. No sense of vibration whatsoever. Initially worried as I thought it might be the tyres - Pirelli & Yokohama. But no just a good old fashioned wheel balance.

PS. Has anyone out there had problems with the steering column when it retracts up/inwards. Occasionally a 'deep squeaking noise'. Not always about 50% of the time. Spoke to the dealer who has agreed to replac the column next week.

Anyone any thoughts ????? :D

It's a reasonably common problem mate - seems to affect some steering columns in the hot weather - duff batch prolly
