Hi everyone!

After a long search for a decent lexus, I have finally found one! Its a 2000 black lexus Is200 SE Auto with 88k on the clock. The timing belt was changed at 68k by a lexus dealer and was last serviced @ 78k. The car seems to be in tip top condition, done 150 miles yesterday and never missed a beat.

A few points in which I would need your advise:

The front fog lamps are not working, are the bulbs easy to replace?
Need to get the car checked and serviced, does anyone know any decent garage in Leicester (East Midlands)?

Your comments will be highly appreciated.

Regards

Hiya mate, congrats on the new purchase ! you should post some photos : )

I live in hinckley, just dwn from leicester, and i always use Lexus Coventry - their always sound as a pound. They will give you a quote on what needs doing and the you can book in if your happy - not forgetting you'll have a nice shiny new one to drive around it while they do the work : )

Hi Moosy, welcome to LOC and congrats on the purchase

Replacing the fog lights is reasonably straight forward, they can be accessed after removing part of the wheel arch lining.
However it is more than likely that the fog light assemblies will have corroded - this has happened to me and others.
Lexus will quote around £140 for each so you might want to try a breakers if need be.

Welcome along mate!

I bought my black auto 200 last sunday and im still loving it! I was amazed at how smooth the gearbox was!

One of my fogs is also not working!

Thanks for the replies guys!

Spoke to Lexus Leicester today and they will do a visual check tomorrow free of charge and see if there is anything needed to be done, so fingers crossed!

lexuslloyd -> Thanks for the tip mate, will definitely use them if needed, but because I work just round the corner from Lexus Leicester, I will give it a go tomorrow. I will post pics when I give it a wash, the weather doesnt help especially being an Astral Black!

Atce4 -> Cheers mate! No wonder the previous owner gave me a replacement fog light, that might be the problem. I will see what the dealers say tomorrow.

BRUC3 -> Thank you my friend! Ive seen the pics of your motor, congratulations you've got a nice example there, they are quite hard to get in black! Looks very similar to mine!
