the actual replacement of spark plugs is very simple but not sure how complex it is in the lex

why not let the nice people at lexus do it for you?

i have turned up at a dealership to ave some work done on my car
my car went up at 10 i went up to the viewing area at 10 past to see all the mecs on their t break

on my time

so spark plugs £75+ an hour no problem mate
especially if its arround 10:00, 12:00, or 3:00

if u know how to change sparkplugs with other cars, then u can change ur IS200s. u have to remove the engine cover....all bolts are exposed anyway, then ull see the coils...they hve bolts on them ,,,simply unscrew each one, and use a deep socket for the plugs. thats it. the hardest part will b d last plug nearest d dashboard area, bcoz its a little tight. not really a hard job.

Surely changing the spark-plugs will be done at your 60K service????
jonthebarber
as i say i don`t have my service book with me (as i said at the start of the topic) so i did`nt know when they are changed . all i did was ask (cheers bruno) when/how and if they could be done by my local garage/mate . (which looks like they can!!!) . cheers .

Iridium spark plugs should last 100,000 miles. That is unless there is some abnormal conditon that causes them to foul or burn up sooner. You can pull them out and inspect them, and if ok, just put them back in and go.

nice one

it takes me 5 mins on the 2 and I'm no trained tech, should take them no time at all, mind you are they one of those PITA companies that charge min 1 hour ? I don't know how lexus dealers work
