I have been browsing on the IS300.net, and seems like most of the users take their cars to detailing place where they get a full paint work make-over..
Detailer
Is their a place here that offers a similar type of service here, i don't mean the average valeter, as i think that they not specialised in this body work service..
so any one know any place..

This isn't a detailing shop is it (or am I not seeing something obvious?) it's
a website advertising car polishing stuff - just like Meguiars, only wet-look.

yep thats true MsW, but i couldn't find the actual link, but the deatiling shop produces the same effect to the car, proffesionaly done.

My bruv had something like that done ... Near Salisbury i think.
Body compunded + polished + interior + underbonnet etc ....
They had the car 3 days and it cost over 300 quid.
He's well chuffed with the result though.
I did a similar external job myself couple of weeks back.
Was asked to provide 'wedding transport' for some friends ...
So though i better go to town a bit ... Damn my IS was gleaming

something similar to this:
USA-Detailer
They actualy take off the lights, seal all the cracks n join, tape up any plastics bit etc.. then detail the car..

I'd pay to have someone else put so much time and effort into cleaning / polishing my car.
don't know about £300 (although this isgood for 3 full days work) - but then, I wouldn't want 3 days worth of cleaning / polishing a month.

thats a one-off application Ryan
Had it done to my IS when I bought it.
Really good - car looks good after just a wash and chamois dry.
They also make an excellent alloy wheel wax

My local Chips Away dude offered me 250quid for painting two key scratches, fixing and painting one dent, all bonnet chips and any other marks to the paint work of the car...plus and wash and wax.....not too bad me thought!!

How was he going to fix the dent do you know?
Fever
June 10, 2003, 12:17 pm
Well its a bit of a bugged....it's on the wheel arch where the body is double skinned...it can't be pushed out, so he said sand fill and paint! It's about the size of a fingernail.

I only ask cause my dads got two dents about the same size, one on the wheel arch and the other on the door (both from supermarket incidents

) and he's been getting quotes of about £600 from bodyshop places.

There is a place near me that does what IMI is talking about but I can remember the name of it so I will have a drive past at the weekend to find the details out. I had my MR2 done there after some chemicals got spilt on it from work. It came out like new 2 days later. I think it cost work about £250. And the finish lasted for months all i had to do was wash it. Dunno if that helps anybody?
