The drivers door won't lock/unlock with the key remote, but the others do. If I sit in the car and manually push the drivers lock switch, the central locking still doesn't work... but if I lock with the key in the drivers door, all doors lock
Is this a case of the dreaded actuator motor failure?

Does sound like the lock motor in the drivers door.

The actuator solonoid may well have failed but it is also possible that the moving parts have rusted up. This does happen.

You need to take the door card off to see what's occurring.
