Hey Guys, got my JDM Black Chrome Headlight at last, and im going to fit it tomorrow ( Trying to fit it, hehehe :D :D :D ), i had a look at the headlights,Grille, and front bumper today , and i have a few question to ask ( those who had done this before )

1/ i couldnt see where the clip that hold the bottom of the Sport Grille to the bumper, except for 2 colored bit that stick out at the bottom of the grille, are those the one that need to be pressed to release the grille?

2/ do i need to undo the 2 bolts that hold the front lower spoiler too to release the arch liner?

3/ how do i adjust the headlight level so it doesnt fail MOT?

4/ and as someone said before can it be done without taking the bumper off? what do i need to look out for?

sorry for all this questions, hope someone can help...and yes i had a look at the post about how to dismantle the Headlight already, but i just want to make sure i do it right.. and here is a pic of my smoked rear end..heheh (Smoked rear light and fog light ) :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Hi Tony...

My advice... firstly, wait for dusk, and shine your headlights against a garage wall (or something). Mark the position of the car, and the height of the lights.. repeat the procedure once the lights are fitted to adjust the levels..

1) Those 2 coloured bits are the clips for the grill, just push down and slide the grill bottom towards the radiator.

2 ) I'm not sure about this, if you have a bodykit I can't help you, I just removed 3 of the liner pins and was fine.

4) you don't need to remove the bumper, here is my 10 sec guide:

Remove the grill (by taking off the 4 black clippy-things) un-bolt the 10mm bolt on top of the light.

Go through the arch liner and remove the 2 10mm bolts.

Then, look from where the grill sits, you will see a black clip holding the light, i inserted a flat screwdriver and 'popped' the light out of the clip.

You will have to wiggle the light a little, and flex the bumper uprights, the best way is to get the indicator side free, then slide away from the car.

Hope this helps.

Ian.

Thank Guys, i will give it a try, i had a look at the work shop guide already, but im dont like taking the bumper of, cause i had problems try to get the fog light off before, and not sure if the wiring for the fog light is long enough to take the bumper off (last time i took 2 bolt off the side of the fog light, but i couldnt take the damn light out, being try not to damage the paint on the bumper...)

finger cross, hope to get it done tomorrow. will let you know how it go..hhhehe

thank again guys...

they dont have auto level adjustment
but they align as any head light does
there should be a nut thingy with a casternated washer thingy
Fidgits
A 10mm nut, just use a wrench & socket to adjust.

Have a look at the back of the headlights, you will see.
Maz
