i have a 1999 toyota altezza 3g beams vvti just put a new throttle boby on but it will only run good with the air fillter out ive you put it in it chokes its self to death the filtter is old can someone help carnt sell my tezza until its right

Sounds like the idle needs resetting to me,
have you tried something simple like resetting the ECU by taking the battery off for 10 minutes?
