My power steering squeels like a goodun on near full lock both left and right but is fine in a straight line with no loss of PAS.
It has been sounding a bit odd for a while and got better after I replaced the aux drive belt.
I have checked the front brakes and the cambelt and tensioner and it is nothing to do with either.
I have also checked the power steering fluid reservoir and there is no loss of fluid and the level is as it should be.
What I did notice was that the fluid is no longer reddish in colour and has a sort of faint burnt smell to it.
I suspect that the fluid may be deteriorating so I would like to replace it but don't have any idea where to look for the drain plug.
Does anyone know if this is a straightforward DIY job or would it be best entrusted to a mechanic.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Think you just have to pull a pipe and operate steering a bit to push fluid out.

That would be my guess too.
