Hi
Where can I locate the oil filter on my '96 LS400. Is it a straight forward job?
Cheers

It is accessible from under the car with the front on axle stands
If still fitted there should be a black plastic under engine cover which needs to be removed (or at least partially then folded down out the way).I think there are around 12 10mm bolts/crosshead screws to fully remove.
Once off the filter is located on the passenger side about halfway back along the engine bay.
It's mounted horizontally making priming (pre filling with oil) difficult and is the conventional screw on type.
Make sure the rubber seal comes of with the old one and fit the new one hand tight only.
I always use a genuine Toyota filter these are around £12.00 including a new sump plug washer from Lexus.
I assume you are also changing the oil so a good quality 5w-30 is needed,I use Havoline Fully Synthetic from Morrisons Petrol stations at around £16.00/5 litres.
