Hi all,

i am new to all this so please be patient

i have a problem with my is200 and im hoping someone can help me. i was on the motorway yesterday and when i was doing speeds at around 65-75mph my car would start shaking, is there anyone out there who could tell me why this could be?

thank you
Felix
1st thing to check is if your tyres are balanced.
2nd thing is trying to find where the vibration came from, eg, front or back or engine bay
3rd thing to check is if the "shaking" only happens on a specific speed band, such as your said 65-75, how about over 75? (you may have to go to a private road to test that [img]http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif[/img])

Good luck

I am sure you will have people to help you out when you have more details reported back to here.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The vibration came from the front, the highest speed I went up to was 80mph and it was still vibrating, so I went back down to 60mph and it would stop.

if youve had the car a while and this shaking has just started please be very careful ,, could be a tyre bulging or split, wheel coming undone or anything more or less serious,, get it checked asap

Check the wheel bolts are all tight before doing anything else.
