while searching for a good gs300 i did look at a couple of mk2's. they both had a screen instead of the standard lexus stereo that's in mine. is it possible to remove mine and fit one of these lexus screens from the mk2???

thanks

Probably not as they are probably different size.
Best bet is to replace the existing head unit with a single din fascia adapter and then get a single din head unit with dvd screen etc with Sat Nav.
This is what I plan to do with mine sometime this year.
PM Tigerfish as he is the electronics guru on here and has done this on a Mk1 car.

thanks for the reply mate. i'm also looking into replacing the unit with a double din sat nav/dvd player.

Yeah, it is not a straight forward swap changing the standard head unit in a mk2 to a sat nav unit from a mk2, so impossible pretty much to stick one in the mk1. The satnav unit also has the heater controls built in I think, which makes it even harder.
Ashman7286
that rules that one out. i think i'll keep the standard headunit then, it sounds too good to take out just because i want sat nav.

thanks for the help :winky:

i was also wondering this.
would the 97 ls400 satnav work?

I wouldn't expect it to be any easier. If you already have all the gear, then might be worth a go, but probably not worth buying to try it.
