How 'bout Richmond Park, then crossing the river at Kew to join the NCR at the Chiswick roundabout?

I'm open to any other suggestions though. If someone has an Ace route for avoiding the traffic that'd be swell!

what time to meet up,i get in about 5-5.30 so i guess around 7-7.30

Richmond Park closes at 8 something nowadays, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Fargo reckons we should be there early, so I guess the earlier the better. I've not driven round that way in rush hour for a while. Any idea how long it'll take?

Once were through the park its only a short trip through Kew
then up Hanger lane on to the North Circ and were there,
Cant take more than what...... 40 mins surely

Just to bump this up!

And to suggest that rather than meeting at the gate to the park, we meet instead at the Pembroke lodge car park inside the park. Its only a couple minutes down from the Star and Garter gate towards the Ham and Kingston gates, on the left hand side if you're coming up from the south, or obviously the right if you're going the other way!

I think it would be easier that way. See you there Tues. 7-7.30!!!!

Don't whatever you do try to cross the river at Kew Bridge - you'll be stuck for ages, even in the evening.

Instead cross over Chiswick Bridge, and take a left at the bottom of the bridge, and follow this road along all the way along the river. It comes out at the top of Kew Bridge on the north side, take a right and you're a few hundred yards from Chiswick Roundabout and the A406 N. Circular...

I know this as I work right beside Chiswick roundabout.

I'll be heading up to Ace Cafe around 8ish, p'raps a little later

Only just really looked at this post as i know I can't go but if your looking at Richmond Park as a meeting place your going to have fun if anyones coming through Kingston or the A3 as it's notoriusly bad at that time in the evening......

LOL I used to live in Kingston and walk the dog in Richmond park, on a good day it used to ake me 2 hours to do the 40 mile journey on a bad day could take a couple more hours

The problem always was around the kingston area and the approach to richmond park when I was going the other way to elephant

Luckily used to have decent aircon...

I'll have to come down the Ace one day as I have a brother in Kingston where i can crash

Well Zee, I found Kavey at a set of traffic lights not 100yards from the cafe at about 8pm, when we pulled up at the cafe i was pleased to see that now the Ace have stewards to direct you to a parking spot... we were the first LOC to arrive and some 15 mins later the surrey boys turned up,, namely Dr Evil, Pee J, Bazza followed a little later by Mr Lex, oh an not forgetting Mr Matt McNally who graced us with his presence just after 10pm.
The place wasnt as busy as last month, i reckon due to the weather, but was better organised.
Photos, yes i have some i'll put them up when i get home from work.
