anyone replace speakers for different ones? what make is available & best?
what is power output for current IS200 speakers?

I have a GS, but the principle is the same.

Changed the front speakers for MB Quart components and the rear for Kicker duals - awesome sound at reasonable cost.

[quote name='marcus_bennet' date='Jun 28 2003, 06:31 PM']has anyone replaced factory speakers for different ones on their IS200? if so what make is available & best? Alpine & Fusion is pretty good. not sure if they cater for IS200 fitment.
what is power output for current IS200 speakers? & speaker size? looking for ones that is more powerful + better sound than factory set up. otherwise not change it.

Any make of 6x9's will fit directly into the rear shelf, but you do need to drill 4 new holes to secure them.
The fronts are 165mm diameter, with a seperate tweeter at the top of the door on the mirror bracket.
These can also be replaced. I read a thread about having to cut up the old speaker to use it as a spacer ring. this is no longer nessesary, as "Autoleads.co.uk" now make a spacer to fit(part number is SAK-2912). Its listed for the Toyota but it does fit.
The tweeter can be removed and another one fixed in it's place, solong as you choose a small one(you may have to use silicon to fix it in place)
