Any ideas on where I might be able to lay my hands on one Altezza 17" wheel to replace the naff space saver in the boot? Oh and how much I might be looking at cost wise?

Yes, (if you mean the centre cap with the "L" logo) these turn up regularly on e-bay

Keep looking on E-bay, usually some come up on their, or even if you find a loacl breakers yard, you might be able to source one from them.
