Good Morning, good morning....

OK only 3 days to go until the first Go-Karting Challenge and pretty much everything looks set, we have 2 full teams, we have the booking and am sure we will have the adrenaline and giggles on the day...

I'm just posting a quick check here that everyone has received 2 emails this week, one with a Word Document with information on Race lists, general information and instructions on how to get there and the second with information about a pub that is 7 minutes from the location and a car aprk which we can have to ourselves if we wish for drinks and cheap food after the event...

If you are going Karting and you have not recieved this documentation could you please PM me asap.

On another note JM Russell lives just outside of Oxford and has kindly offered to allow everyone to meet at his house before the Karting for a convoy into Oxford and arrive at the same time... An email will be sent this evening.

I almost forogt....

Do we want to change the format from 6 races each and have fewer races each but more laps which would give people a better chance of overtaking ???

I think another email is needed !!!

NO!!!!

Do you know how long it takes to work out the format if there's 24 people, 2x12, has to be 3 from each team in each race, can't race same people too many times, must race only 6 times, must start from each grid position, and to be done in 24 races ?

It's a long time I can tell you !!!

:)

Tony, are you ready to kick yourself, I did all night....

I had a chat with the guy who runs the Karting PLace ( a really nice guy over the phone)... and...

All we had to do was supply then with the names and they would have done it for us !!!

I am going down there tonight to look at the track and have a chat with him and will take the names along with me and see if we can get a print out of names in both the 6 car on circuit and 8 car on circuit sessions and see what they look like...

If we get 8 cars on circuit at a time there will be more overtaking, more laps per person and should be more interesting and challenging, UI thought I would throw it open to the people who were coming as it wouldn't mean us doing the task of figuring out the startsm his system will also work out the best starting grids to make sure everyone gets a start on pole etc...

:tsktsk: :tsktsk:

DOH!!!!

Nevermind. In that case, my suggestion would probably be for 8 people per race and more laps.

I'll post and email everyone tonight then...

must remember to print out the names so i can take then with me lol....

Tony can you email the word Doc I sent out last night to my work addy as I forgot to send it here and it's at home !!!

Can I pre-empt the "post karting challenge post" and say this now, while you are planning it?

WE NEED PICS!

take some cameras people - if there are 8 people on the track at a time - that leaves 16 to take pictures!

:D :D

Already got it covered Matt - I'm taking my own personal photographer (!)

We also hope to have a bit of a "surprise" photo as well, but everyone will only see that if it comes off!!

According to the BBC, the weather for Saturday is with a min of 9 and max of 18..

Remember this is an outdoor track ( would make it interesting)

I will also be taking a camera...

Ian.

I love it when they say "50% chance of rain"

what does that mean, hey!?!?! It will rain?! It won't rain!?!?

Anyway.....bit :offtopic: that!!

A bit of rain will make it very interesting. To be honest, so long as it's not cold I think it's gonna be a damn top top top TOP day!!!!
rhaines
Just been down to the track today and were in for a big surprise.
(oops teddy bears picnic creaping in)...

I asked them how bad the rain would be to stop the karting and they said they've had people karting in the snow before now :yahoo:

The place looks pretty sorted, clean inside and outside viewing area, overalls look in good nick and they even have waterproofs...

If iot is cold remember one thing, your going to be wearing your normal clothes, overalls or waterproofs on top of that, gloves and helmet's, karting is hard work so you won't take to long to wamr yourselves up at all, apparently if it's damp bigger people have an advantage although your never going to balance out 10stone against 18 lol....

I've just sent another email for your perusal, quick responses would be appreciated...
