Just been looking at some subwoofers and wondered why we get ripped off so much in the UK:

In the UK:

Kicker S12L7-4 sub - £299.99

In the US:

2 x Kicker S12L7-4 subs - $359.99, $100.00 deliver, import duty (say $100?) = $559.99 = £336.30

We are paying almost twice as much in the UK for the same product.

On the same subject (prices I paid for my new amp and speakers):

Hifonics ZX6400 - $210.00
Focal Utopia 165W - $400.00
Focal Audioum 6W - $150.00
Shipping - $150.00
Total - $910 (£546.62)

In the UK (europe)

Hifonics ZX6400 - €499 (£350)
Focal Utopia 165W - £550.00
Focal Audiom 6W - £150.00
Total - £1050

Again almost twice as expensive in the UK!

You are not wrong mate.Us guys on TOC are saving up for the new supra and in the USA it's going for £17000 cheaper

We get ripped off on anything and everything...and it effects me in all catergories: fags, petrol, u name it...and I fall in!!!!

Someone was telling me that the new MG-TF built here in good old Blightey, and sold to UK punters for nearly £22K, is also shipped out to the Far East where it sells for £6K less!!?

US is a bigger market so lower overheads etc eg in meeting local safety regulations etc

I completely agree. I buy CDs on the web (often from the US) and even with shipping I rarely pay more than £10.
