hi all
i bought some red caliper paint(foliatek). for you guys & girls that painted the brake calipers, how do you go about painting them? i notice little metal bits on the calipers, what do u do with them? take it u dont paint over them?
& how do u go about painting back of the calipers cos is not accessible unless u disassemble the them. what other bits have to watch out for when painting them? never painted these before.
is a 1999 Altezza RS200, this shouldnt really matter? i heard it has bigger disc brake than standard IS200, am i wrong??
thanks

Just paint the bits that you can see with a brush.
Don't paint over anything that moves and don't paint over the bleed nipple

Clean them first, make sure they are completly dry and just paint over them.

this is the best way i think to do it and this is how i did it.
Take off the caliper by unbolting the two large bolts on the backside. Then with the brake fluid line still attached find some thing (i used a paint can) to set it on. Next take off the brakepads. Cover everything up with masking tape and newspaper (make sure to tape up the metal parts on the caliper but it not a big deal if they get paint (just looks better up close)). Put some paper inside the caliper too so u dont paint the underside. Before i painted i cleaned them with paint thinner. I also put lots of clear coat on them after applying the stickers.
