Hi peoples,

My IS200 failed it mot recently on a few thing such as both front wheels and a shock absorber due to serious oil leak. As you probably know the shocks dont come cheap but i have found one on ebay for about £50 and just want to know will it be compatible, as the seller has not replied back to me yet.

Its a front passenger shock absorber.

here is the link.

Do you think this is genuine? and is it a front passenger side shock absorber?

Thanks for all replied in advance!

Hi mate.
Having bought parts from E bay before and paying for it a few thousand miles later i'd go for KYB or Boge i can't say for the item in question on E bay is any better than the two i mentioned but in experience going with a name you know is a sure bet.
as for compatibility get the OEM part number and cross reference with the seller to see if they match.
You also need to replace the other shock even if it's not defective as they need to be changed in pairs.
Good luck.

I changed my original shocks and fitted Kayaba shocks. I didn't spot any difference between the two on the road. I recommend then as they are much cheaper than the original ones. Here in Greece, the Lexus dealer was asking 1.300 euros for the shocks, allignment and labor and the total cost of the Kayabas was 370 euros.
