Hi Guys.

I am intending to fit a bluetooth car phone kit to my SC430, but need to connect the radio mute wire to the radio.

Has anyone removed the radio - is it easy to do? - and does anyone know if the radio has a radio mute input?

Cheers.

Hi Buddy,
I've done loads of 'em for Lexus Teesside....
Theres a panel infront of the gear stick that pops out, it has clips on the outer edges, just pull it and it will come out.
Behind that you will see the 10mm bolts that secure the radio
Remove them and lift out the radio. I recommend you unplug the radio and put it somewhere out of the way.
The plug for the radio holds:-
  • Thick White/Red = +12volt/ red wire on car kit
  • Thin Grey = Accessory supply/ Blue wire on car kit
  • Thick White/Black = Earth/ Black on car kit
    [list]
  • Thin Blue/White = Mute/ Yellow on car kit
Plug radio back in and refit bolts and trim.
Be very careful with the motorised flap over the radio, and also the switch that controls it.
If, when you put it all back together, you have no sound, or a fixed volume from the radio, turn the ignition on then off, and press the radio flap button a couple of times, to open and close it.
For some reason, the volume of the radio is controlled through the flap.
Only had this happen once....
Hope this is of some help.
DUNCAN.

just one question though - what panel are you refering to? - in front of the gear stick is the ashtry flap - is that what you are talking about?

cheers.

What Bluetooth kits are the best to install on the SC430 are there any that interface with the navigation screen?
