Has anyone tried retrofitting a centre armrest like those on the 02 cars onto a pre-02 car? I would love to try it but was told that the part was almost AUD$1000 and they would not take it back if it did not fit! Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah, I guy from the US retrofitted a 02 armrest to his 01 IS. It's working! :yes:

Does anyone have the part number? I seem to have to do all the research because the dealers aren't too bothered here.

Does anyone know the email address of this guy in the US who has fitted the armrest? I went to my local dealer and they've sworn that its not possible because they've tried several times and it needs a complete change of the centre console which will cost over US$1500.

I really need to get the part numbers for the various 'bits' and then I can do the fitting myself to prove these people wrong.
