O.k guys,
just to put your mind to rest whilst i was camping in wales I cracked MY KEY FOB (dont know how) anyway i know roughly when i did it but did not notice it had come apart and the battery had gone.. anyway i noticed about an hour later and then anouth 20 mins finding a shop that had one.. so after about a 1hr 20 mins without a battery i thought it might have lost its memory but it worked fine and fully tested.. so if you thought it needed to be done by lexus and quickly swapped now you know..

You should know Lexus take better care of us than that....(Speaks the man who had a tail light changed by the Dealer!)...

On that point my lexus must be the only car i have owned that you have to undo six bolts just to change a rear bulb

ah... is that what I should have paid £35 for..had the machine not convenientlt broken...
