OK Golf is on 6 September

Carswell Golf Club, on the A420 near Faringdon Oxfordshire.

18 hole Stableford. Normal handicaps - if you don't have a formal handicap we'll trust you to tell us where you should be. My golfs about as good as my Karting so I play off 28.

Cost will be about £30 per person including food - either at the club house or adjourn next door to my house.

Confirmed people so far

LOZ
Dipstick
Simon Skippy

I played there yesterday - the course is in great condition considering how dry it's been. Very little rough at the moment - it's all died back and most of the water hazrds are dry! - my golf was C**p (not good)

Tee time is booked for 2.04.

Loz has got to run off afterwards (something about creditors hehe.gif ) so suggestion is to meet up for lunch first. Club house at 12.15 or if you're early come round to my house. It's next to golf club. Turn right out of golf club, take first drive way on right (about 400 yards) go down drive to end of tarmac (about 400 yards) turn left over cattle grid and you're there!

It ought to be recognised that while only two of the four members actually made it to the GOLF CHALLENGE, there was a bloody good day had by all! Great lunch in the club house. Best portion of Scampi I've had for a while. tongue.gif

We took to the Tee. Loz with Great big Birtha, JM with a trusty Iron. first Hole, Russell. Loz to catch up... Set the tone for the day that did sleepy.gif

I think I may have been in the lead at one point but we played for holes rather than strokes. if you know what I mean... Turns out we are both pretty long hitters so were landing the ball within 10 yards on the 250+ strokes... a good walk out on a great course. Added bonus was a tour of a Motorcyle Factory. The Owner (friend of Mr Russell, of course) took us round the handmade frames he produces for engines by Triumph and Harley amongst others! I did spot a Jet engine in there and he mentioned the boys from the raf were coming round to stoke her up. you can imagine how much fun this place was!

Anyway. All in All I lost the Round by a hole to superior Fire Power. Well Done Jonathan Russell for sorting out such a great day. Shame others had challenges getting there. Nexy time I am hoping for a bigger turn out so dust off yer clubs you lot!

Congrats to the reigning Champ, JMRUSSELL!

will you be posting a pic of the scorecard?
Loz
No Card.

PLayed for holes not for strokes...

reckon from memory we went round about 20 over. JM tell me if I have told porkies here... we bogied and parred and the odd double bogie or worse were the exception.

D,

Does this mean you are coming to the next one?

Loz hits a mean 7 wood on the fairway. It was a good round for both of us and very level. Fortunately very little rough becuase of the dry weather otherwise it might have been a different story.

The motor bikes are Metisse.

i would have come to this one if it was not so far away. it worked out 4-5 hours travelling with average traffic.

i enjoy golf but not 5 hours travelling for a game..
