I have a 2000 GS400. Last week I stopped for the night in Terre Haute Indiana and was very surprised to find that Terre Haute (population 60,000) is not in the Navigation system. I called Lexus, their response was, sorry, our system is not perfect, we'll make a note of this. This seemed to me pretty lame. What are other' experiences? Is it common for the navigation system to be missing cities of this size?

I would post your question on the US forums to see what others in the US think. I would have thought there was an update though.
In the UK the latest versions of the CD or DVD (we don't have hard drive systems here) have full road coverage (apart from newly built ones).
