My 5-year-old 1999 RX300's sun roof makes so much wind noise that I rarely use it. Driving a later model loaner from the dealer I was amazed at how quiet the sun roof was. The baffle that pops up when it opens is very different.

Anyone know if there is either an aftermarket accessory or a way to add the newer model's parts to mine so I can have the well behaved sunrof?

Try buying a Sunroof wind deflector that sits at the front of the sunroof and covers about 3 inches of the open space. This may help. You could pay $50 at Lexus or $10 at Target. smile.gif

Just purchased a RX330 with a sunroof and I am experiencing a harmonic problem from 30-60 mph. The problem occurs when all the windows are rolled up but the sunroof is open. There is a horrendus harmonic wave above your head that sounds like a helicopter. It will give you a terrible headache in 2-3 minutes. Has anyone experienced this and if so what resolved the problem? Thanks icon14.gif

It also happens when either or both rear windows are open. I usually just leave a crack of the front window open when one of the rear window is open. For the sunroof, try open either the front or the rear window. Just a little needs to be open. I hope this helps.

I will try that test tomorrow. Are you saying that the harmonic occurs when the sunroof AND one or both of the rear windows are open. I am not experiencing the problem when the sunroof and any of the four windows are open. Only when the sunroof is open fully. Have you heard of anyone else having the problem or a technical service bulliten being issued because it is quite severe in my case. Thanks

I meant if only the sunroof or the rear window is open, not both. In fact, you already proven it since you are not experiencing it when the sunroof and any of th efour windows are open. You should try opening just one of the rear window. That should duplicate the same problem. And then open the front window and the problem should then disappear.
