  1. Hi NetOne, Yes, it does. When you mentioned the POWER button I guess you are talking about the automatic, the manual car doesn't have this and the car does need to be rowed along a little with the gear lever. I think one of the reason for this is the Lexus is a heavier car (nearly 200kg). Cheers, Georgea
  2. Hi TonyDownunder, Lexus said that they said that they are unaware of the timing and method by which this system will become available. As such they were unable to provide a more specific answer. I know mate, the IS350 is in a completely different league than my Accord Euro. The IS20 seems a little sluggish when compare to the Accord Euro, especially in the 70kmh to 100kmh range. I look forward to its' arrival. Hopefully it wont be too late in 2006. Well gents, the Victoria IS350 registration is officially taken :D Some other :tsktsk: has taken my initials 001 this weekend so to avoid any further disappointment I snagged the IS350 plate.
  3. V IS 350 is still available at http://www.vplates.com.au/euplateorders.htm. In your shoes I would go for it now pending release of the IS350. I had checked it was avaialble, but, I'm not sure of IS350, I was thinking of my own initials, either way I'll definitely go with the Euro plates, they look much nicer. I know where you're coming from mate, It's under pain of death that I buy a new car this year! but I really need one :winky: I'm sure my wife will come round, as yours has. Just let her drive the car more often. As you already know, it pampers the driver. Slightly off topic, I've had some replies from Lexus Australia on voice commands for climate control and sat nav. Apparently there are plans to introduce full audio commands in the future when the Australian system is more fully developed (it was too complicated to implement everything immediately). RDS (for the radio) is unlikely to become available, not really a biggy, but I like the fact theat the Euro cars show the name of the FM station that you are listening to. Cheers, Georgea.
  4. Well, I have more or less made a decision to buy an IS, however the only thing I'm not too happy with with the IS250 is its' pickup . My Accord Euro has more get up and go than the IS and that's with a smaller engine and less power (140kW). The torque is the problem with the IS250, there's just not enough, overtaking and getting clear of cars means the beautifully smooth auto box has to drop 2 or 3 gears, which does take time. So, I have decided to wait until later in the year when the IS350 is released. In the meantime I will be green with envy as I read all of your experiences with your new IS250s!
  5. RDS support for the Australian Market! Voice control other than for Bluetooth in the Australian Market.
  6. Thanks gents, I think I'll go to the Lexus dealer and see if I can un-velcro the rear seat :winky:
  7. Greetings all, I was wondering if anyone here with an IS250 and children could tell me whether the IS250 has ISO-FIX child seat mounting points? Thanks, George.
  8. Hi Tony, which salesman did you get at Brighton?I haven't placed my order yet, I am waiting for a answers to questions I have asked (one of them is about voice commands). They are very flash, but I am still going to check out Melbourne City Lexus. Cheers, George.
  9. I live around the corner from Brighton Lexus, but I have an appointment with Melbourne City Lexus this week. A trainee salesman called Mike dealt with me at Brighton Lexus. He was not completely knowledgable about the car (he'd been away on leave during the training) and I found him a little pushy with trying to get a sale, despite my clear indication that I was there purely to test drive a car and talk about pricing and options. I'll let you know via the forums how I fare with Melbourne City Lexus. Not wanting to appear boring, but Black/Black although Black with the Ivory interior was considered, but that's what I have now, and the light coloured leather seats show up the die from new trousers and particularly Denim jeans! My wife likes the black/black combo
  10. G'day all, This is my first post since coming into contact with an IS250 :D I went for my first test drive of a Lexus Sports Luxury on Thursday last and fell immediately in love with the car. I took the car home and got comments of approval from my wife. I really like the look of the 18" alloys and the alloy pedals, but once you've specced the car to include the Option Pack (DVD Satellite Navigation with DVD player, bluetooth capability, reversing monitor camera, premium Mark Levinson 14 speaker audio unit) the price is only $1,900 less than a sports luxury (which gains active cruise control and the pre-collision system). Once I've figured it out, I'll place an order for one. Other things I've noticed and I'm hoping someone (from Oz) can answer is that the Radio doesn't appear to support RDS (Radio Data System). Most of the commercial networks and the ABC transmit RDS info and I think it's a strange ommission. As mentioned in this UK and US forum, is voice control of the functions available in Australian specced cars? Cheers, George Oh, yes, I nearly forgot, Happy New Year everyone! :P
