  1. Bump! All this stuff is still free to a good home if it can be collected from Felixstowe.
  2. Free to an appreciative home. This Lexus 'stuff' was collected by my late brother, TonyGoose. Rather than throw it out I thought it would be good to first offer it for free to any LOC member who might appreciate having it. Amongst the 'stuff' is: IS 200 assorted promotional brochures from 2001 on. Lexus Magazine - Issue 2 (Winter 2003) to Qtr 1 2008 edition. Promotional DVD - IS200 launch Ads from 1999 and other promotional video. Lexus lightweight jacket in tan. LOC cup coasters x 4 LOC window stickers and tax disk holders. Lexus motor insurance key fobs x 5 Should anyone want this 'lot' then the only condition is that you must collect it from Felixstowe, Suffolk. PM me if interested. Thanks.
  3. Very many thanks for all your kind messages of condolence and special thanks to janey for organising flowers on behalf of LOC; they were on-show at the crematorium then the following day we took them to Felixstowe Cemetery and placed them on the family plot. The funeral service was totally befitting for the selfless and very fondly thought of man that Tony was. His immaculate TTE Supercharged IS200 SE was parked proudly in his memory 'front and centre' of the entrance for all to admire as they arrived. After the service the subsequent gathering at the Oyster Reach, Ipswich, was a wonderful event that gathered many of Tony's friends and family together to share their memories of him and enjoy looking at countless photos from the 80s, 90s and 00s. Happier days. As an enduring memory to all his friends of the LOC community, I have posted this photo of Tony with his pristine T90 OSE; a photo taken by our Mum circa 2004/5. Tony Goose 10 Jul 1966 - 9 Mar 2013 May he live on in the memories of all who knew him or were so fortunate to have met him.
  4. Hope they don't change the external appearance at all, the car already posesses awesome looks. Must put a more durable paint on to prevent beards of white chips over the front end. More guts required from under the bonnet. Alloys are nice looking already but must have something done to increase resistance to corrosion. In addition to electric and heated front seats, I would love to see memory put on the Dvrs seat. Knock ten grand off the retail price and blow up all slimey rip off Lexus car salesmen, especially those who work in Swindon.
  5. Well, sadly I let my pride and joy go to a slimey rip off merchant dealer in Lexus Swindon yesterday . Been advertising in Auto trader but no joy so had to let it go at a ridiculously low price. Car was 11 months old with 12 thousand miles on the clock, IS 200 Sport in Granite Sky. All I wanted was 17K , had to settle for 16200K . It will probably be on Lexus Swindons forecourt for 18995K tomorrow . I'll never understand why they have to make so much profit on a sale. Whatever happened to aftersales service and customer care. (I suppose they did give me a lift to the bus station after they had taken my keys). And so ends 2 years of driving brand spanking IS 200s. May have one again in the future (as long as they sought the paint out) but for now I'll settle for my 1995 BMW 525i SE which I picked up on Monday for under 3 grand. Hope you don't mind if I continue to visit this marvellous club despite being a BMW owner .
  6. The worst has to be the 1989 Vauxhall Nova 1.3L (First Car), but even that was good fun! Other cars: 1986 Vauxhall Cavalier SRi Saloon - Very quick! 1983 BMW 320i Coupe (LHD) - I loved this car, kept it for 7 years and I was only the 2nd owner. 1992 BMW 525i SE - Autobahn cruiser! 2001 IS200 Sport 2002 IS200 Sport
  7. Was ist los mit der deutschen bundespost?
  8. Tyre pressures can be found on a decal inside the drivers door. Open the door and look on the foremost side of the centre pillar, voila!
  9. No need to drop the engine to change the belt on a mondeo?
  10. Hi Liam, On your 2000 model you only need to press the lock button once to double lock your car (deadlock). If you press the lock button a second time the indicators will flash 5 times indicating that the interior motion sensor has been disabled. The locking system was revised at the back end of 2001.
  11. He was just upset that his screen had steamed up whilst he was driving. I mean if you spend your money on an executive marque like Lexus you don't expect to suffer from steamy windows do you?
  12. Sitting in Lexus Southampton today whilst my motor was recieving its "intermediate health check" :P when a bloke came in and complained that his windscreen had steamed up. He was very persistant and said that he had his ventilation on the correct setting. I reckon, and so did the service manager, that he had it on recirculating air with the air-con off. When asked if this was the case he immediately went all defensive and the following burbled from his mouth: "It was on fresh air setting, my Ford and my BMW don't do it when they're on that setting" I had a little chuckle to myself as he got more and more irrate. Eventually the service manager agreed to have a mechanic look at it, although you could see in his mind he was thinking "I wish you'd read the bloody owners guide" In my experience, and drawing upon my extensive engineering knowledge , it is quite normal for the screen to steam up if recirculating air is selected and the air-con is switched off. Warm moist air drawn from the inside of the car and blown up the inside of the screen + cold air on the outside = foggy windscreen. Hit the Air-con button and the air is dried, no problem. "If you're Ford and BMW don't do it then you drive them and let someone who appreciates quality, and who can read the owners guide, drive the baby Lex" (quality if you don't mind having CRAP PAINT). By the way, if you are reading this and thinking "that was me", no hard feelings, I just found it quite funny.
  13. Hi Parthiban. Hope you hung around to apologise to the owner of the other car. There is nothing worse than someone damaging your pride and joy and then running off. Something similar happened to me in a Southampton car park. Luckily the damage was only a small paint chip on the door fender trim, it wasn't dented. However, I was still f***** fumin :megaangry: :megaangry: :megaangry: that the culprit had not left a note or hung around to apologise.
  14. Phoned round three dealers in my area today for a quote for my first 10000 mile service. Southampton GBP 95-84 inc VAT (+ GBP 15 for C/Car) Swindon GBP 140 + VAT = GBP 164-50 (Free C/Car) Reading GBP 95 to GBP 115 inc VAT (Free C/Car) The variation in Readings price is because they sometimes have to renew the air filter. When I told Swindon they were the most expensive by a large margin, and that I was a regular user of the Team Lexus website, they immediately offered me 15% discount. "Hang on a minute" I said. "I'm not a Gold Member so I'm not eligible for that discount". "That doesn't matter sir" was the response, "I will give you the discount anyway." Sorry Lexus Swindon, even after 15% discount you are still 47 quid more expensive than Southampton and Reading. It certainly pays to shop around.
  15. Can't believe you guys treat your cars so badly. I mean fancy taking them out when its wet! :P
  16. Does that Yessss mean it was you or are you just celebrating catching out a member with no stickers displayed? If it was you, choose a different wallpaper, the one you left the note on was minging
  17. I drove into the car park at the venue in question and parked up next to an equally dirty Platinum Ice IS200. When I returned it had gone but the owner had left a note under my wiper saying: "Hi, check out the owners club, www.lexusownersclub.co.uk" Was that you?, 10/10 for advertising the club. Did you buy anything interesting?
  18. After the weather we've had nothing will help keep the car clean. I too spent a couple of painstaking hours cleaning her up yesterday, drove 15 miles today and she's minging again. I have the fitted mudflaps and think they are quite tidy, its not like there 5 quid Halfords jobbies. Certainly cuts down on dirty/stonechipped sills but the back end still gets covered in sh??e? Very simple to fit by the way, or you could ask dealer to do it for nuttin
  19. What the dealer is telling you is a load of garbage. I have owned 2 IS200's and neither of them have had the problem yet so that proves that it doesn't affect them all! I had a go or two (or three) in my bruvvers when he had the judder prob and it was obvious that there was a problem. My advice is to keep taking it back until they get it right.
  20. Pulling it out a bit works. If the slight bend in the nozzle rests on the lip of the filler neck you should have no problems.
  21. All I will say as another whom is serving my country is how can the politicians draw so much money under false pretences. I bet if Blair sends us to war we will continue to be paid our average of 18K a year whilst he and his defence secretary sit in their ivory tower, thousands of miles from any danger drawing 100k + each. Why do politicians get such massive pay rises but those who do all the work get **** all? Hence the reason I don't vote. They're all as bad as each other, politics is just a job to them that pays ***** loads for doing **** all, they could't care less about the country. Glad I got that of my chest. As for the Firemen, they can crack on stand around in the rain. I just hope the government rewards us for doing their job them. I bet the cabinet get a hefty raise for doing **** all again.
  22.:smilegrin::smilegrin:I use the wife to get them off while I put my feet up.:smilegrin::smilegrin:
  23. I reckon you should buy mine. See ad in Buy & Sell forum. Save 3K on new price for a car that is a mere 6 months old with 5k miles on the clock. It's only just run in and in mint cond!. Also has 2.5 years of Manufacturers Warranty left. Tempted?
