  1. No, not all Lexus dealers give LOC discount, but the majority do. Worth shopping around, you may find it's cheaper to drive to a more distant dealer, such as Hanley, and get it done there. Alternatively why not get the timing belt & water pump done at an independent, then get the rest of the service (and the L stamp in the book) at Lexus? Incidentally when the water pump failed on my Carina E, Toyota in Builth Wells asked me if they wanted the belt changed at the same time (as it had to come off to do the pump). The extra cost? About twelve quid, the cost of the new belt! Awesome... thanks for that advice... but I dont really know any good independants who I would trust to take the whole front off and put it back together. I am in SW London if anyone knows of a good mechanic
  2. So, are all LEXUS dealers bound or must honour an LOC discount up to 15%...? If I join for £25 get a card plus the benefits it brings (anyone know how long this takes) and then tell Croydon LEXUS... I should get a discount? Thanks in advance
  3. So if my understanding is correct... £699 is a good quote; and with an LOC discount it will be cheaper. Do I simply tell LEXUS Croydon that I am a member of LOC and they will give me a discount? Should I be eligible for a courtesy car also? Thanks
  4. Hi, it's been a while but I'm back... My first LEXUS has come up for it's 60,000 miles service. It's an IS200 52 plate... (Born Sept 2002) I shopped around and have had varying quotes from as much as £1100...!!! (All Lexus dealers) But the most competitive has been Croydon at £699. Is this a competitive price for a full service inc Cambelt, tensions, plugs, oils and filters... I wouldn't mind my wheels refurbed in the price either... Please advise (and sorry if this is another service discussion) Thanks in advance
  5. Hi, I have an IS200 Sport Sept 2002 model. I hadn't driven my car for nearly 3 weeks as I was on vacation and I have had to jump start my car with the aid of jump leads and a second car... on two occasions now. One it starts, runs on... if I switch off, it will start again... Do you think my battery has died completley or as I begin to drive it now that I am back it should charge up again. If I look at the top of the battery, there used to be a green dot/light... now there is nothing. Any advice? Thanks in advance PS. I think its the original battery. If it helps, I have only done 59,500 miles
  6. Okay, a silly question I know... but I thought I would ask the obvious question... Could I go to a dealer and ask for a front fog lamp for my IS200 2002 Sport model. I just need the driver side one... Any idea how much I should pay? Would Lexus sell me one? Or can I go to other suppliers and it would be cheaper... Does anyone have a spare new one??? I have had a look on the For Sale area on the site and there is nothing. Thanks in advance
  7. Thanks for that... So, will these be okay??? http://www.consumabulbs.com/files/bdet.php?id=147 Thanks
  8. Oh gosh... they don't tell you that in the manual... It's amazing... just to change a bulb, the wheel arch liner also has to come off!!! Thanks for that... do you know the model or type of bulb I need... could I get one of those new white xenon types in there and change the other side also? So during the week I can order the bulb (website will be cheaper) and next weekend I can change it. Thanks again.
  9. I can't seem to get the front fogs to come out... as in the manual I have unscrewed and removed the 2 nuts from the side (very awkward position) and tried to pull on the light from the front... It has come loose, but the harder I pull the side bumper wants to come with it!!! I don't want to pull too hard in case I break or crack something... My fog light has blown/fused that’s why it needs changing. Please suggest something Thanks
  10. I need to pick your brains, but I have a few visual questions... by looking at the pictures below, could you please tell me if everything is okay or needs attention... Thanks in advance Is anyting missing here... I took the fuse lid off and thought I have 2 missing... Not sure if you can see the below pictures too well, the condition of my water pump... is it serious because the level in my radiator has been the same since the past 3 months... but not sure but it looks like something has had a small eruption... or maybe I have not noticed before... next to the belts... Any ideas...
  11. i poured water with a watering can just above the bumper. not underneth Still a bit cold outside to take the boot lining off... however, credit to Y2kanjar... I also poured water around the bumper and then looked inside the wheel arch... and I see a trickle of water running down... So then, I pour it closer to the petrol cap... no water... then I pour water near the rear light joint... not a trickle but a reservoir of water fills up... Okay, so we have discovered where the water comes from, I couldn't see if the water is coming from the flaps however, I think in my case, I need to remove the lining and then see exactly where this is coming from. I feel that it is coming from closer to the seal between the light cluster and the rear wing just above the bumper and edge... I have noticed a graze on the rear bumper that indicates a slight impact, no cracks, just a graze, do you think this would have pushed anything out of the way so the seals are not tight anymore...? Any feedback is welcome as I am a novice... thanks How will I be able to fix this do you think... and why should this happen...
  12. Funny that, because that's where I thought it would be coming from the very first time I discovered water in my arch... but I thought it doesn't happen on the other side so how can it really be that; however, it does look like you may have a slight rip in yours... So these flaps, what is the purpose of these if they allow water to come in... I will simply have to play detective with a watering can in these few days off... its freezing outside... neighbours are going to think I'm mad... I will report back on my findings... did you pour water all over the arch or spray it underneath also with a hose...? I will check the petrol lid seal also...
  13. Where exactly is the leak... is this anything to do with the similar topic as...??? http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=37289 Water is basically found in the left wheel arch as shown in the pics as described in the above thread...?
  14. I'm sorry I still have not had time, but still I am getting water in the same place... my cloth that I have strategically placed once again was quite wet that I had to wring it out for it to dry again on the weekend... I need to find out where it comes from as I am a little fed up with it not knowing what is causing this issue... Is it easy to remove the boot lining...??? Thanks...
  15. You know what; I have been taking a temporary measure and have placed some cloth in the arch to soak up any excess water because I just have not found the time to solve this issue. It has been raining something harsh in London over the past few days... But in a word, no I haven't sorted this yet. I need to push the black tube in further (but I need to get behind the coverings to do that; pour water in the sun roof and see if it leaks, and then pour water around the filler cap to see if that leaks... just need the time... On the other hand, if you solve this before I do, send me a PM; it will be much appreciated; it seems to be almost a common issue...
