  1. Thanks Steve and Ambermarine for your guidance , it's not just me! It is getting harder.
  2. Hi, Thanks looking for secondhand parts for LS400 1990 , I am sure it used to be easier getting bits, as I was always able to find someone breaking one up, seems to be getting harder, looking for Drivers window motor, and switches on drivers side, and inner plastic backing parts to inside door handle drivers side. Or maybe I need to get a newer model Lex , as this has been a great car to own and drive, 22 years old! Decal
  3. Hi, On mine I modified an idea from the clublexus site. This can be done without removing the seat. 1. Remove Back Cover. 2. On mine the splines on the rod that connect both sides of the seat had worn out. 3. I used my power drill to drill progrerssively larger holes in the centre of the rod until it split. 4. Took the remainder of the the rod ("pipe recline", in Lexus language new ones are £13. 5. Cut the ends of now two rods so that you have clean ends and fresh splines (the splines go throughout the length of rod). 6. Use standard plumbing copper pipe 15mm diameter about 8". length 7. Drill holes to take 3mm bolts , you use the copper pipe to join the two parts of the aluminium pipe together. 8. You bolt one side first connect to the right hand side of back of drivers seat, 9. The other side is slide inside the copper pipe ,you slide this out and connect to the left hand side of seat , align holes and put in second bolt. I also found that seat had expanded slightly so a new replacement rod would not be long enough so this method allows you to extend the length of the rod 5-10mm. I have some pictures if anyone needs them. This was on a 1990 LS400. Good Luck Decal
  4. Hi, Not sure if I've posted this in the right forum firts post ,but an avid reader of these forums I've learnt loads about LS400's here. When I start my LS400 1990 first thing in morning it won't idle until I have held the acceleartor done for 1-2 minutes and then idles perfectly and starts fine for the rest of the day . I have tried searching through the forums but haven't found anything similar. Thanks for a great forum . Decal
