  1. Thanks for all the messages. Please be aware of txt about unable to deliver from h t t p s ://postageuk.co.uk - it is a scam. My concern was NOT with Satnavishop. I have now received my order from them by RoyalMail 1st Class Post, inserted the new card, sat and waited for system upload, new maps all set-up! First Class service from Satnavishop!
  2. I've ordered an updated card for my is300h Premium from Satnavishop. Had a text message from h t t p s://postageuk.com saying they had tried to deliver but no-one home. There was no card left and that site (without the spaces) doesn't appear to be a 'proper' site so i can't rearrange delivery. Order says delivery by Royal Mail 1st class post. I've emailed Satnavishop but so far no reply. Does anyone have a contact telephone number for them please? Thanks ian
  3. Not sure if this is what you are looking for! Picture shows my USB 64mb USB stick named MUSIC 1 - side panel gives details. I copied my jpeg 'thumb_02146Disney_1024.jpg' and renamed the copied file StartupImage.jpg as RGB with dimensions 3000 x 2250 There is a folder StartupImage and a file image.jpg which I believe are not needed, just made them when I was trying to make it work. Any other info re this just ask. Let me know if it works please.
  4. I'll have a check at my 'stick' and see what the set-up is. I think it does only show 1 pic at start-up. Later today.
  5. Thank you both, I was a bit dubious about jumpstarting from my precious IS300h but needed a word from the experts - thanks! I like the idea of removing my battery and connecting leads to my wife's. I'm guessing that will not harm my battery? You've both helped my decision, thanks again! Ianj
  6. My wife's Renault Clio has a dead battery and won't start. Should I connect jump leads to the 12v battery in my boot and attempt to start the car from my battery? Ianj
  7. £83.36 for parking sensor, £110.00 for strip down, rebuild and test, plus VAT £38.67 : Total £232.03 I also had 2 lattes and 2 Tunnocks Caramel Wafers - these were FREE!!
  8. So finally gave in and asked the dealership to check my sensors. Result was a faulty sensor on the front drivers side (in the grille). Replaced and all OK now. Thanks for the suggestions.
  9. I parked in a certain un-named store car park in Glasgow a few weeks ago and came out to find this - my friend asked if they were kissing - thankfully I don't see any tongues! My car is on the right 😁
  10. I'll be in Palace Grounds Hamilton car park tomorrow (Saturday 8th) with my IS300h if you want to have a look at the boot. Ianj
  11. That sounds very similar to my problem with my sensors. I haven't reported back yet as almost every time i go out in the car I get a different scenario. Gave them a good clean, working properly for trip of 8 miles, return journey sensors sounding with nothing in front. Next day outward trip they were sounding with nothing in front for first couple of stops, then started intermittent, by end of 22 miles they were operating properly! Just find it hard to accept they are faulty when they work perfectly sometimes, thinking it could be weather related and as Daniel mentioned the clear coat hardening. Another good clean needed - and better weather!! - I think before dealership.
  12. On Monday it was very intermittent, Tuesday and Wednesday it was constant once speed dropped to below 8mph with totally clear in front. Corner sensors would pick up and flash orange bars down to red on driving close to walls etc, but the red bar across the front without the warning bars. I did think it was a solid red, but today it is more a red/white striped bar (like warning tape). I did clean the sensors as advised, maybe that's why today has been different but I don't think I can get them any cleaner - it's not that after cleaning they worked properly, just not constantly, which makes me think the sensors haven't failed! Guess maybe its a visit to the dealer! Thanks for the help and advice - I will try a clean again on Thursday - and any other recommendations. ian j
  13. Hi, My is300h Premier with factory fitted parking sensors has started sensing nothing! When I come to a halt the parking display shows a red bar at the front of the car and the beeper sounds continually. When I drive off and reach approx 7-10mph the beeper stops and the display goes to normal. If I drive close to the wall at my side the sensors pick that up and show the 3 orange bar symbol gradually going to 1 bar and then red but there is this red bar along the front even when there is nothing in front. There is no sign of damage, I've cleaned the 2 sensors in the grill and the left and right hand side senors but just the same annoying red line and noise. I know I can turn it off but I usually drive with it on - as I do with all my in-car labour saving devices!! Anyone any ideas - thanks. Ian j
  14. I've identified my preferred parking spaces at a couple of supermarket carparks - when the 'line painters' get near the end of the parking area they often don't have enough space left for 3 bays, so split them into 2 giving lots of room either side. Doesn't always work but worth checking out at your local supermarket. Also means my wife knows where to find me! (+ or -)
  15. My thoughts exactly Alan - and I do have my bus pass which gives me free travel all over Scotland! For me, nothing beats traveling in my choice of car for all the same reasons - love it! And to throw another spanner in the works re petrol consumption here's my dash from my IS250 SE-L! A few litres of petrol put in at Harthill SS on the M8 and drove to George Square Glasgow - 27 miles, mostly through 50mph road works with nose to tail traffic. Only put in a few litres as the next day I was going back to Edinburgh to pick up my IS300h!!! lex3 - should now be lex4! Ian
  16. Just drove from Hamilton down the A77 to Portpatrick in my is300h and loved every minute of it, my longest drive since picking up my car 2 weeks ago. Tomorrow off to Keswick from Portpatrick returning to Hamilton up the M74 on Saturday - looking forward to every mile!
  17. Well - Mrs Jenkins and I are just back home after an afternoon driving my (oops, our!) new to me 13 plate IS300h Premium sunroof in Mesa Red with grey leather! The car is in immaculate condition, well pleased. This is my 4th IS, I love the cars, bought one of the first IS200 in Scotland after being narked at a BMW salesman and vowing not to buy another beemer! I've dealt with 2 Lexus salesmen (retired Glasgow gentleman) and 2 cars from Sebastien in Newbridge - excellent customer service which means a lot to me (and the cars are excellent too!). I've been a lurker on here for ages, not posted much coz I'm not as clued up as most of you guys but am grateful for all the info and tips I've used with my traded-in IS250 SE-L. And now first question with my Hybrid - I will be out the country for 3 months over the winter, which basic trickle charger is recommended to keep my battery topped up? Do I just clip onto the battery terminals in the hood and plug into 13amp socket? And rightly or wrongly got the Supergard so have to wait a few days to give it a good wash and then get some of my Poorboys World Natty's Blue Paste Wax for Darker Vehicles on it - or should I claybar it first? All set for a Saturday of setting up keys, memory seats, Mark Levinson sound, android phone and finding out the updates. One happy chappie! Ian J
  18. UPDATE 2 days ago my usual key fob wouldn't open the car. Tried my other key fob with no problem. Just renewed both batteries in the 2 key fobs and all working great again. I guess this may have been the problem with the car not starting?
  19. Wow! I had the very same problem today with my IS250, same sad sounds - first time ever I've had an issue with starting! Made sure all heaters etc were OFF, tried a couple of times with no success. Left it for 5 mins max, tried again and it started but was pretty weak sounding, eventually back to normal. I drove for about 8 miles through towns, stopped for 20 mins and car started first time on my return, then same procedure again with no problems. All I would add was there was a heavy dew this morning, then a good warm sun, looked out the window and my car roof was steaming with the dew and sun! Ian
  20. Just fitted Dunlop SportMax 225/45/17 on the front and 245/45/17 on the back. Only done 300 miles so far and impressed with how quiet they are. Called Blackcircles on Thursday, they delivered to their recommended tyre fitter on Friday and tyres fitted Saturday morning. £473.96 total, delivery, fitting, valves, alignment. Oops nearly forgot - 1500 Tesco points also!!
  21. I'm needing to change my battery - had a look at removing my old one and have the problem with the connection at the left hand side of the plastic cover frame. How does that come off - and then how do I get it connected again? Thanks ianj
  22. OK guys, I am Scottish!!! But honestly the real problem is the cover does not slide all the way back as far as it should and makes it very difficult to get things out of there. Will try the cocktail stick with Blue TackAlso - guess there's no easy way to lift out the console then? Thanks Ian PS: I think its a £1!!!!!!
  23. Can anyone give me advice on how to remove a coin from the slide down area at the back of the ash tray on the centre console where the cover gently slides down into? Thanks Ian
  24. Thanks for all that - got some PS21 on order from Autopia - will be next weekend before I get time to even look at the tin!! Will be taking your advice about 24hrs between coats - and always garage my lovely lexus!! Will let you know when I get it done - thanks again Ian
