  1. I get why you'd choose a Land Crusier. Big, solid and reliable. Never had one mind so I'm presuming there. I did think about getting one briefly before the LS but their not cheap, as I'd want an Amazon. Just had a look at one on ebay and very like the LS inside? Maybe in a few years when the kids are a bit bigger.
  2. Two issues! One, I can't seem to transfer my address book from my iP7 to the car. I think the case is it wont work so I'd like to input numbers manually, however I can't even suss out how to do this. I have read the manual but so far I cant find any info. Two. my car mat right floor anchor has come free from the carpet. I seem to remember that this also happened on my sport cross. Does anyone have a fix for this? All the best Nick
  3. For me the seats are very good. The seat gets plenty hot enough and the cooling isn't quite as effective, however it does make a difference on a sweaty day!
  4. I do on longer journeys, my wife Sally gets better MPG than me but she wont park it. She really hates the foot brake and can't get to grips with it.
  5. That really is a great looking car and I hope gives you miles of enjoyment!
  6. How about a Toyota Century? If you want more bling than the LS, the Century could possibly provide it. However it is not small...... http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/toyota/century Wouldn't mind the new one in a few years. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/tokyo-motor-show/forget-a8s-and-s-classes-its-new-toyota-century
  7. Sheffield Headlight Restoration seem to do a very good job. When i was last at Lex Tek I noticed a RAV 4 that had the lights done and they looked new. Apparently they charge £35 a side. I may get mine done..... or just use Brasso!
  8. yes, but it may well be a electric bus?
  9. Hi Graham, I wanted one for 8 years, but put it off till April this year and like you I spent a long while looking at them on line. Deferred enjoyment if you will! It would make a super taxi, but I'd imagine only 20 mpg or less if it's round a city. Personally not a fan of LPG but I'm sure someone will be along soon to advise. Air suspension was my main concern too, but I've chilled about it now. Also you can get used struts on eBay though a seller in Manchester, so I don't worry about it at all. Mines an 06 and it's all the car I could wish for and despite it's low MPG (but good for a V8) the overall car makes up for that. If you did drive one I doubt you'd be disappointed and If you're ever in Sheffield you could have a spin in mine. Cheers Nick
  10. Not sure, I was on the vino when I posted. Perhaps I did it twice..... Hey I'd forgot about the LC500. Now that is a car that I think will gain Lexus a new fan base. It looks stunning.
  11. Good point, but i see plenty of Teslas in Sheffield and our traffic is pants. I did sit in one and while i liked it the quality is defo not as high.
  12. Exactly, often to be part of the future, money is extracted from you. Not that I think they are misguided. At some point, someone paid 60K fo a LS?
  13. So twice this year I've stopped at Hopwood Park services on the way down to Sennen in Cornwall. As far as go services go it's not to bad as it's quite an open and family friendly affair. I can remember at one point the child parking area was next to to the playground. This is now been moved to opposite the playground area, but where it use to be is now given over to at least four Tesla charging stations, which are often full. So I see cars that cost about 80K and emit little poisonous gases and do high MPG. So my LS cost 8K and no doubt many other LS 400/430 owners paid a lot less and some a little more? I like to think that few of us if funds allowed would contemplate a Tesla S as I see LS owners struck by cars that are different to the mainstream. However....... they cost as mentioned 80K new and the cheapest second about 42K. Anyway so there I am parking up, proud of my ultra reliable 11 year old car that does 23 MPG combined, then I see the Tesla and feel, perhaps, well a little foolish. Don't get me wrong, I love my LS and I've never felt as proud of a motor as this LS I now own. For the money I don't think it can be beaten in the miles for smiles (and cost) competition. It did make me feel a bit like a Luddite though as I parked opposite a young and very stylish family, in the very zeitgeist Tesla. As said above, I love my LS, wanted one for years. What do other LS owners think about auto electrification?
