  1. Hi All, after a few months of looking, I finally brought a LS400 at last. I can not express how pleased I am with it!!! its a 1994 model and all was well until I loaded up the cd changer with 6 - CD-R disks of my favourite cd's(cd-r are copies burnt with a cd writer for the un-initiated - and yes I do have the originals) and the cd stacker will not recognise them. The cd's are not all on the same media, so I assume it will not read backups full stop! Can anyone advise me on this problem? Can I have a new laser unit fitted, or is there a replacement stacker I can buy that will fit in the same space and use the same connections. Many thanks and any info will be greatly appreciated. Mark ps - I'm also going to drive down to Spain during the summer. Can any one give me any precautions, advice on preparation, tips hints etc. And if anyone else has done this journey, I would be interested in your experience. moneypit@blueyonder.co.uk
  2. £40 Eh..... Im about to purchase a LS400 and my local "universal" parts shop checked for me and thay are @ £12 Perhaps you should shop around :) lol
  3. Thank for the info Jay, What service did you have done for £225, and do you or anyone have any idea of the cost of the other major services, ie The biggie with the cam belt change? Cheers Mark (aim to buy ls400 mid -end of May)
  4. Many thanks Steve, I hope to stay with the group for a long time, it seems friendy, unpretentious and full of information, even for those of us who cant afford a new Lexus. As to the manuals, i was more worried about the "user guide" type manuals you get whith a new car, you know the ones that tell you all the functions, Features and setups of the radio, a/c, cruise control etc, as I wasn't sure a 1990-1994 model one, would still be available to buy? Cheers Mark
  5. Hi All, Great Site, and very helpfull. I'm trying to get as much info together before I part with the cash for a used LS400, and I would like to know, If the LS400 i brought didn't have the original owners manuals with it (cause there's a hell of a lot of buttons etc) can I obtain a replacement from anywhere else?, or do i need to ensure it comes with the car? I know i really need to buy one with a service history, and i know about the faults with the dashboard, but is there any thing else i need to check specific to buying a used LS400 Thanks Mark
  6. Hi Out of Idle curiosity, and for future reference, how much would a proper Lexus replacement key cost?
