  1. yeah they are quite heavy... the eaton charger being the heaviest part for obvious reasons. and yes please weigh it once it arrives unless someone already has a manifest with the weight and can post the details up here :) BTW... congrats Patrik
  2. Hi all, I'm parting with my TTE Supercharger kit, someone has asked me to quote shipping but I'm not sure of the total approx weight to base this on, can anyone shed any light on it? has anyone here had to ship or pay for one of these to be freighted to be able to help? Cheers, Thomas
  3. Ok so I got a reply from Dave at Prolex and he had this to say...
  4. well sent an email to the Prolex guys hoping they will have some time to answer my questions about this conversion... haven't been able to get hold of anyone that's done it.. and perhaps there's a reason for that. In any case I'll post up my finding here.. no doubt somebody down the track will want to know the same thing.
  5. Would this also apply even if I were to run more boost via the supercharger with an uprated pulley?
  6. Hmm so rather than using the gte internals would I be better getting higher compression forged internals for this project of mine? Although turbo could be an avenue worth exploring if the engine is going to be able to handle more boost :)
  7. I've been considering doing this to my car also recently, so much so that I have found a GTE block going for a good price which I plan on using as parts for the spare 1G-FE motor which i acquired recently. For me this is going to be a bit of a work in progress however, I plan on using the rods and pistons from the GTE in my block and then add bigger injectors, upgrade the pulley for the tte supercharger and also convert the car to a manual. I also brought some tanabe sustec pro-ss coilovers for a very good price which i plan on putting into the car. If anyone has any pointers regarding what I'm about to do I'd be receptive of the advice :) Cheers...
  8. Hi all, Well I put my car on a dyno on the weekend (rolling road type) and I was sadly disappointed by the results. Turns out my car is running way too lean and I'm getting a lot of detonation happening.. which as we all know isn't a great thing for any engine let alone the brick we all know as the 1G-FE. Here is a scan of my chart... As you can see the AFR is all over the show which is a tad concerning. Members of my club have suggested I get an Apexi SAFC II. I've located one going quite cheep on an auction site. now what I'm needing help with is figuring out the wiring diagram as the one supplied only has the ECU pin outs for the 3S-GE Altezza and the 2J IS300 / Gita. Has anyone tried the Apexi SAFC II with their setup and have any comments on it? Can anyone make any recommendations / suggestions on an alternative for around the same cost? Better still does anyone have a full ECU Pinout for the auto 1G-FE in an Altezza AS200?, my ECU doesn't have the plug in the middle and it's an auto, so I'm guessing there is a difference between the IS200 and the JDM's AS200.
  9. Unless you planing other mods to your car ? the HKS F-con is a bit over the top mate ;) Oh I've got plans alright... :) Forged internals, bigger injectors, fuel delivery, supercharger induction, manifold, bigger pulley :) heh The joys of making a living in the IT field :) If you need a HKS FCON V Pro i may have one avalible. With a universal harness which you could possible use again and some of the optional extras. Out of curiosity, how much would you be looking at for it?

  11. I see a number of your members are using HKS F-Con ecu replacements in their IS200's I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the wiring harness that goes into the 3S-GE ECU would be the same as the 1G-FE, or alternativly would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a supplier for a HKS harness, or did you all have to get custom wiring done? Thanks. P.S. I'm loving the feel of my car now I've fitted the supercharger :D
  12. hey all, much thanks for the information supplied, it's worked a treat :) Initially the car was sluggish and barely able to move forward, but a little adjustment of a potentiometer the guy had fitted worked wonders and the car seems to just want to go now. This will do until my HKS FCD arrives which is a little more proven... at least for now I can get moving again. Time to go and fit the bumper and under engine cover back on then go catch my ferry home. Again thanks everyone, you've been a MASSIVE help!
  13. Cheers guys, I'll dort out the wiring in the morning, gonna goto sleep now :) thanks for the advice... appears my ECU is different to yours as i don't have the same plugs for my car which is an auto... my ecu looks like the manual ECU's diagram from the wiring chart for the SXE10 3S-GE – Engine Control ECU Pin Configuration and that has them labelled ABCDE from left to right while looking towards the left hand side of the car from the right hand side. I know I've got a GXE10 but the ECU looks the same as that diagram.. as far as the plugs go anyway. In the daylight i'll be able to see the colours of the wire Sparkystav mentioned and will let you all know how I get on.
  14. Hi all, I'm in the middle of fitting my charger and I've made a weird discovery... I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance. The ECU of my car is the same as that pictured for a manual... it's missing the middle plug... Only thing is my car is an auto! I also don't have the auto cooler thingy that needs to be moved out of the way by the radiator :/ Now I've been looking at the wiring guide Sparkystav posted up in a previous thread, from what I can make out of it I need to wire power of my piggy back ecu to E8 for power and earth to A21, one of the other wires for your black or silver piggy back ECU appears to connect to B9 which is the ignition signal. However the piggy back I'm using is after market, made by a new zealand company called re-map, the guy told me to wire it upto the map sensor, so it appears I'd need to hook it into B1 Can anyone confirm if this would be correct? Would greatfully appreciate any guidance you can give me here.
  15. Reason I was considering a W58 or similar box is because I have a bellhousing that mates up to the W5x series and the 1g-fe engine, these are custom made. I also have a flywheel and HD exeedy clutch to suit that gearbox, so if it's a way to keep the costs down then it's an option I'd consider exploring unless some one can give me a reason other than "a j160 is 6 speed" which is stronger? the w5x series or the j160? if the j160 is stronger then that'd be of interest. Fabrication of mounts etc isn't a problem as a very good mate is a race car fabricator / certified engineer and can do anything required in this area. I don't actually know the price of a J160 gearbox as opposed to a w58 as they don't seem to be available that often via my local auction site trademe... and I'm yet to contact a wrecker to see if they have anything and an indication of price. RE the manual ECU can't I just bridge the auto plug in park?
