  1. Hi guys does anybody know the correct denso lambda sensor for a IS200 sport year 2000?(direct fit) i have the fault code P0135 bank 1 sensor 1 after looking online and the denso website there seems to be more than one sensor which will fit🤔 DOX-0231 DOX-0205 DOX-0236 is listed for is300 but matches my car reg when I search?? Are the old ones hard to remove if yeah any good tips? Thanks Karl
  2. Hi mate. My O/S/F guard also almost fell off and was catching on the disc.it was that loose that when i jacked the car up to investigate the noise it fell off as i grabbed it. my mate who used to be a lexus tech said it wont be a problem as its quite a big job to replace. mine fell of last autumn and all seems ok. cheers Karl
  3. alright guys thanks for the advice. not too sure mate gonna have a way up this weekend while its light. yeah i was thinking it might be easier to push the switch out from behind so i dont damage the dash/switch trying to prise it out. thanks again cheers Karl
  4. Hi guys i,ve noticed the bulb in my head light adjuster switch is not working. how do i remove the switch and what type of bulb is it? my car is a IS200 sport on an X plate. thanks in advance Karl
  5. Hi guys problem solved. left the car ticking over and only the left hand fan (passenger side) was working. the plug on the drivers side fan was not fully connected. now when i turn the A/C on both fans come on instantly as i thought in the first place. the fact the drivers fan was not fully plugged in must have been causing the left fan not to come on with the A/C. cheers for the advice Karl
  6. Hi mate thanks for checking. i was pretty sure that when you turn the A/C on they turn on. i,ll have to get them checked out. not had time yet to leave it running to check the fans come on. after arriving at work left it for 5 mins and no fans although temp gauge has been normal. cheers again Karl
  7. hi mate yeah i,ve checked the connections and both seem ok. im gonna leave it running tomoz and check if they cut in.normally they come on within ten minutes of idling in slow traffic. could do with somebody turning the A/C on and checking if any of the fans come on. cheers Karl
  8. Hi steve thanks for the reply. i did think that today about the outside air temperature the car was showing 7 degrees outside today. im pretty sure though when i used to turn the A/C on at least one fan would come on instantly no matter what air temp. i,ll be keeping an eye on the gauge im O.C.D when it comes to my car. :) cheers Karl
  9. Hi guys can anybody confirm that when you turn the A/C on the radiator cooling fans come on no matter what the engine temp is? the reason i ask is i,ve just had a cam belt change (by a lexus tech) and today i was sat in traffic for a while and although the temp gauge stayed where it normally sits the fans never cut in after being in traffic for about twenty mins. when i got home i opened the bonnet and turned the A/C on and no fans. im pretty sure they used to turn on with the A/C Instantly. im thinking since the belt change something is not right although the heater/ A/C is working ok and the temp gauge sits just below the middle where it always sits. cheers Karl
  10. hi steve2006 car is a IS200 sport on a x plate (2000) cheers mate Karl
  11. Hi guys On my way home from work my driver,s side front disk brake guard had come loose and was catching on the disk. i took the wheel off to have a look and the guard has completely fell off due to rust. will it be ok to still use the car until i can replace it? is it more off a dust guard or a heatshield? does anybody know the part number? cheers Karl
  12. hi guys has anybody used px wheels in blackpool? how is the quality and will the corrosion eventually come back as i,ve had my wheels done before and it only took about 18 months before it returned?(no kerb damage). are aftermarket alloys a better option? cheers Karl
  13. looks like it will be a new copy rad then.how come the core size is different though? quite a big difference between 16mm and 27mm core. i,ve been told there all the same apart from auto box ones which are a bit cheaper.
  14. Thanks for the advice guys. i,ve got a couple of quotes today- lexus £260 a1 radiators £130 are the copy radiators ok and is there any difference or fitting problems? cheers again guys ps i,ll buy the toyota ready mixed coolant.
  15. hi guys i,ve noticed my car has a very slight coolant leak which looks like its coming from the bottom left of the rad. the sight glass takes about 2 weeks to drop. has anybody used radweld or similar? car is an is200sport on a x plate. i,ve heard radweld can cause more harm than good. wot is the price of a new rad or can they be repaired? any advice would be appreciated. cheers flexus k
  16. hi all my is200 sport on an X plate has developed a kind of rattling-tapping noise. it is intermittent and most noticeable when the car is in neutral and ticking over. it can also be heard when driving at slow speed on a quiet road. however the slightest press on the clutch stops the noise completely. when in neutral you can hear the thrust bearing but it has done that since i bought it 4 years ago again it goes when the clutch is pressed. has anybody had this problem or know wot is causing it??? cheers flexus k.
  17. alright gazza i sorted mine by getting the tracking plus all wheels balanced at lexus. i had a ball joint and track rod end fitted due to mot fail but that made no difference. before goin lexus two well known tyre places told me the balancing was ok yet lexus said three were out. hope this helps.
  18. If replacing the original head unit do the small numbers above the cassete slot have to be identical? has anybody fitted one with different numbers and had no problems? (out of a later model car). my car is a X plate sport-numbers 13903. cheers all.
  19. alright mate i,ve had this problem as well, although my steering wheel shimmyed when driving between 50-70mph but was worse when braking between the same speeds. my car failed its mot on lower near side ball joint so i had it replaced plus a track rod end. this made NO difference. i had wheel balance checked at two places both said balancing was ok. in the end i took it lexus manchester and had the tracking done due to having a new ball and track rod end. they also checked the balancing and they said three wheels were out. they also cheched the disk and calipers which were ok. the vibrations now have gone from braking although there is still a very slight steering wheel shimmy at 60mph(barely noticeable) i mentioned this to lexus and they said it could be the front tyres which are only budget.(bad move) when i can be bothered im gonna swap fronts for backs. hope this helps
  20. alright lads update time! i took my car to lexus manchester and told them the problems. had the car seviced and all the checks came back ok.(they checked disk for warping). also had the car tracked due to having a new ball joint fitted the week before for MOT. they rebalanced all four wheels.(said three were out even though i,d been told by two major tyre places they were ok). result time.. the car is a lot smoother although there is still a very slight vibration between 50-65mph. also when braking hard there is no extra vibration like before plus the gear stick does,nt shake as bad. it is now livable but not perfect like it used to be. im thinking the problem could be the two front tyres which look ok but are only a budget tyre and the car use to run on michellin pilot sports with no problems.(although they ran ok on my mates 04plate.his car will be tighter though) next step is swap fronts to back and hope that sorts it completly..
  21. i,ve had the bearings checked plus there is no noise evident. i,ll mention the hubs to lexus when i take it. can they be checked with a DTI?
  22. no idea still trying to work it out.i thouht my new ball and track rod end would have been the end of it especially after failing MOT. A lot of the lads on here think sticky caliper(s) but if you have changed yours im running out of ideas and hope. again not sure why it only happens between certain speeds and conditions. did your problem appear after having the wheels for any reason or did it just start?
  23. alright guys update time. car has been MOT.D (by a mate)it failed on nearside lower ball joint.i was told the brakes were fine. mentioned the problem to him and ball joint was the only problem he could find. so one new ball and track rod end later and guess wot SAME PROBLEM! i did.nt have time to get the tracking checked but the car still drives straight. think im gonna bite the bullet and take it to lexus manchester and let them check tracking and find the fault. never really noticed before but the gear stick appears to shake as well(ANY IDEAS)? will lexus only charge if they find the fault or do you pay if they try and it does,nt work?.its due a service anyway plus it has F.L.S.H anybody answer the above questions? cheers.
  24. See somebody else has another is200 sport with the same problems! wot year is your car BIG DAVE not a 2000 Xplate by any chance? How can you tell if a caliper is sticking? none get hotter than another. car does not pull to any side. any other signs??? could tracking cause this problem? any answers to the above guys?cheers.
