  1. Has anybody out there ever fitted or had fitted a tow bar. I have recently been quoted nearly £ 2,000 (Yes, Two thousand Pounds) to have the propper Lexus system fitted by the Lexus Main Dealers. That includes twin electrics and also a larger oil cooler which apparently you have to have. I have made enquiries about other firms who make tow bars for this car and one of them is 'Brink' who make very good detachable bars and the price of theirs is around £250 to buy and about £350 fitted which is obviously quite a saving. Does anybody know if the Lexus bar is made by Brink as it looks very similar. I don't want to spend over £1000 if I can get the same thing for considerably less. Would be grateful if anybody knows anything about this subject. John T.
  2. Hi David, I must agree with previous comments about the LS400. Ihave had mine since last August and am highly delighted with it. It is truely luxurious to ride in and is so smooth and quiet after my Mercedes and as I am a classical music lover the CD player is just superb, it is just like being in a concert hall. I also like the fact that it is a classy vehicle without being as obvious about it as a Mercedes. As for fuel consumption, I regularly get about 21 m.p.g. driving around town on short journeys and a staggering 31 m.p.g. when cruising on motorways at about 75 m.p.h. and I have done repeated checks on this as the first time it happened I could hardly believe it. Needless to say I am now a convert to the Lexus fraternity and will not be changing my car for a while yet.
