  1. Happy Birthday bobbieboy69er!

  2. Hi all, I want to give my car a good going over for the summer..... My engine bay needs the most attention. What is the best way to clean it!? obviously im not keen on pressure washing or anything like that as it will inevitably get into the electrics! For some reason the is200 seems to gather alot of grit and dirt!? compared to my old 3 series, obviously the different design!! How do you clean yours?????????? cheers
  3. just give it some big beans and see if it spins up...... then press the button and try again! i would say its just your bulb thats gone. my m8 had a is200 a few years back before i got mine and i can remember his flashing all the time when he had the TRC-OFF because there was a problem, think it was just safeguarding its self.
  4. happy with that, going to ring up on monday and get booked in! ill let you know what i think!! cheers all
  5. On the WIM subject. is it really worth 100 of my fine english sterling? Ive herd good things but is it going to make a massive difference to a standard road car?
  6. has anyone changed their gearbox oil!? i've herd that it might be a bit of a pain??
  7. good choice going with the MDF, i had a corsa once wen i was a 'chav' and me n my dad managed to drill a hole thru the fuel pipe when puting an earth wire in! ive lernt my lesson since!
  8. does anyone notice a rumble coming from what sounds like the front brakes, its only when i brake at speed or brake harder than usual. its doesnt effect the stopping power, as with everything....'its there' but not effecting anything. just intrested if anyone else has the same issue. i have newish disks and brand new pads all round. I can hear the 'rumble' and i can sort of feel it thru the steering wheels aswel, the steering wheel doesnt shake it just, well.... rumbles!. cheers
  9. dont know wether its just my car but does anyone notice that when changing from 2nd to 3rd it sometimes isnt smooth. as in it sorta jams but u let the pressure off and push agen and itll pop in. does that make sense? maybe the gearbox is getting on??? cheers
  10. the taphits/tick over what ever is the correct term, seem to be getting slightly louder, cnt here a thing when im inside the car but outside i can here a ticking! now i no that its obviously going to make a noise, but it seems louder than other IS's that ive seen. is there anything i can do that would make her a bit more quiet!? tbh its done about 90k so i dont expect it to sound as new! any advise, much appreciated! cheers
  11. I used Smoothrite paint. same as the hammerrite stuff, not sure whats so special about it. only thing noticed is that is pretty thick and you can paint straight onto rust! just gave the calipers a good rub down and slapped it on. on the decal side of things, im going to have a look around, not sure how theyll look tho!? If anyones done theirs could ya post a pic plz! cheers
  12. Cheers for the feedback, indeed like you say, each to their own! i dont know how silver would look on a grey car, admittedly red ones are a bit 'loud'!!
  13. Red calipers....... yay or nay?? admittedly they do look a bit sort of peach'ish' on the picture for some reason!?
  14. Hi, im new to this forum due to my recent purchase of a IS200 sport Xreg (plus loads of spare time at work!). I have seen many discussions relating to the adjustment on the VVT-i tuning. i have seen one unit which is the "Power Enterprise CAMCON VVTi iVtec Vtec Cam Controller" but it seems to be only the is300 which is supported along with some newer models. I havent modified my lexus in anyway so its just a standard sport. just seems a waste of power until u hit 4500rpm. seem like you always have to be driving on the line to benifit. if it was to kick in at about 3000rpm i would find it much better! im not very technically minded so keep it simple if you can! thanks all! rob
