  1. I think you guys are so funny............. inc my missis...... she wants to sell her RX and get a BM X5 today..... "it's not safe for my son" she said..........
  2. 1stly I think it is a good thing to have, if you or someone got locked in the car, in the emergency they wanted to get out, you should be able to. 2ndly, if you double lucked you car while you are sitting in the car, the alarm takes 30 secs to set, after the 30secs, if you open the door or move too much in the car, the alarm will go off. 3rdly, this will apply to 2001 onwards. Felix
  3. agree above. you may have a water leak somewhere, I had one in my boot, it was the back screen. (screen was taken up and put back on, sorted) Felix
  4. God, you found an very old one. anyway, by day, I am one of the directors in a national car parts company, responsible for overall ICT. 4-5 hrs meeting everyday, and do nothing at the rest in my glass office. by night, I do swimming and going to gym a lot.
  5. I thought about this this morning. what is the highest mileage IS200/300 you have seen? and is she still going? the highest I have seen was 180K. she is still going strong. Felix
  6. No, my neighbours all have “different tastes” only 6 houses on my street, 4 different convertibles, two Lexs of mine and a 40K done-up VXR and some other funny ones
  7. agreee above town driving : low 20 ish. Mixed driving for me, 24MPG as my year average. (mine is Auto tho) Felix P.S. you won't get as much fun in the 1.3L is 3 pot or 4?
  8. Hi mate, I can't be 100% sure, but 99% sure, it doesn't draw or charge the laptop. It's only a USB device. Laptop battery has its own life time, average about 3 years (depends on the way you use it). However, if you leave it unplugged and unused, it loses 2 - 3% daily. They are lots on bay of e, have a look. Very good one set you back 300 ish, cheap ones about £20, but I got one for 60 and a bit which is enough for what I need. (BTW, some chinese ones got great software with it, I have seen it in my mate place, and very cheap, only thing is you have to wait for a week) Felix P.S. sometimes I get someone drives, so I can read the info on the laptop, very interesting reading, lots of things which I never knew could be read by ODB, such as Engine RPM, Calculated Load Value, Coolant Temperature, Fuel System Status, Vehicle Speed, Short Term Fuel Trim, Long Term Fuel Trim, Intake Manifold Pressure, Timing Advance, Intake Air Temperature, Air Flow Rate, Absolute Throttle Position, Oxygen sensor voltages/associated short term fuel trims, Fuel System status, Fuel Pressure Many others...
  9. welcome to the LOC My set-up is 225 on the back and 215 at the front, as she is RWD remember. change is back to 215 when needed to replace, change them together. Felix
  10. Last night - finished work, Started up My IS going home as I do every day, 3 mins later, suddenly felt the engine is no responding to my demands. Push the paddle hard - no response, put in Natural, push the paddle again, the engine not having any response at all. 1st thing going though my mind was the throttle body (£100 e bay job) 2nd thing was the coil pack, ( £100 each e bay job) So stop the car, opened the bonnet. Had a quick look, nothing wrong visually. At this stage, I was 10 meters from a garage. I thought would be good to get in the garage, at least it has better lighting there. So got the car in, parked up, realise that I had my laptop in the boot, lucky enough got the error reader in the boot too, so hooked on, checked it, no error code found…………………… Went back to sit in the car, looked the dash, everything looked normal……… Suddenly, I noticed the petrol gauge hasn't moved for week or so, Tap. Tap… it dropped to the bottom. Filled up the tank, here we go…….. as good as…… Felix P.S. will keep eyes on it from now on and I know she does 300 miles for a full tank…
  11. Sorry to hear the terrible news Steve, I would have yours at least for 9,999 if I had enough ££££. Hope it will get better soon. Felix
  12. thanks guys, so, the Warning Triangle is in the boot, just need a hi-vis and GB sticker. Great ! I take all the Advisables as well.
  13. Hi guys, we (Mrs + a 4 yrs old boy and my IS200) are going to a short break in France + Brussels over the Easter break. Just wondering if there is anything special I should carry or bring with us apart from Credit cards? I am 100% confident with the car, only worry if I can drive for that long...... he he he Felix
  14. Hi, Idling at 500 rpm is normal on IS200 Auto when she is warmed up. (as long as your engine is not vibrating) check the error code and come back to us. Felix
  15. check it out, have 3rd party view is important. Mine last MOT advisory said rear pads need to be replaced, got booked in and the dealer rang said" it's still have half left, any reasons you want to change them?". so I asked them to put everything back on, (free of charge, but the handbreak got tider tho) wasted my half day....
  16. Thanks Kam, I read a few post re tyres, and notice the Falken FK452's are highly recommended here, but it's not really a "quiet" tyre, is it? I enjoy comfortable smoooooth drive more than anything else. Thanks anyway..... Felix
  17. 75 ish would be good buy I think Felix P.S. I found a place do 5 wheels for 100 refurb, pro job in Birmingham
  18. Hi all, 1stly, it might be a "wrong" place to post this, but I found the "wheels & tyres" seems dead, no one replies. anyway: I need 4 new tyres for the IS200. I do the refurb 1st, then new tyres, then pay WIM a visit (that's the plan anyway) I would like to buy the most comfortable, quiet tyres I can (215/45/17). Any suggestions or experience with which brands/patterns are quietest? Currently running something which are excellent in the wet, but do transmit some road noise and sharp bump shocks. Cheers, Felix
  19. I don't think you got one on IS. on Altezza, yes. love to know where it is too.
  20. shold I tell you why I got the 50P mate???? look down:
  21. Actully, I wanted to ask this too. Mine tick over at 550 in P, 500 when I put in D. (readings taken from my OBD reader, it's not a guess) it runs very smooth, no vib, I can put a 50P on top of the engine, it will stand up on it own. how about your guys? what's your tick over rev? thanks Felix
  22. I would stay away from her, not cos the 200k+ cos you can get better one on the 2k you have. keep looking...
