  1. Thanks for that, Had a look at the Lexus Carlisle site and sadly they didn't have on GS I will keep looking
  2. Hello. Are you still looking for a 450H?! It seems to be taking ages, however I understand finding the right car can take time. I was glancing at pistonheads and there's a few 450Hs for sale there. The first one to pop up is an 07 model, however I cant see if its the SE-L model. It doesn't mention fsh or previous owners either good price though. Why do you want a hybrid? If you go for a gs300 you'll be spoiled for choice and it would save you a lot of money. OOh, pistonheads also have a GS430! ;) EDIT: The 450H does have Lexus FSH and is 1 owner from new, might be worth a look. I'd perhaps go for a low mileage GS300 for less money though, maybe, it's a tough choice!!! Thanks for the advice and yes it is taking ages, I picked the 450h purely on running costs eg mpg, road tax etc. Thanks again
  3. Good afternoon I wonder if anyone can tell me if there such a thing as a Lexus only auction...if there is, where, when and how often and more importantly are the general public allowed. Also, are there specialised internet bidding sites for Lexus only. Any help please would be most welcome. Thanks. Roy
  4. Hello, Yes the sound system performed much better, I looked in the boot and the amp was there as was suggested. Also, the front of the cd player had the words "Mark Levension....premium surround sound 5.1" I did notice on the previous car just the words "Mark Levinson sound system" so perhaps there are two systems fitted? but yes this one was very very good. I have found the sound system I like and all I have to do is find the right 450h Cheers Roy
  5. Aw Well, 300 miles round trip, the search goes on, the car wasn't for us today, but at least I now understand about the Mark Levinson Audio system and know how to check if it is fitted or not, so I suppose in that sense the journey wasn't a wasted one. We will keep looking. Thanks for all your replies
  6. Thanks for that. We are just setting off now (Sunday) on our way to Cheltenham. i will post tonight with the result. Roy and Val
  7. Thanks for that, while we were speaking to the salesman at Stockton regarding his SE-L, another salesman shouted across the room "sorry its just been sold" so we are off to Cheltenham tomorrow (sunday) to view another. let you know
  8. Thank you all once again, excellent replies, the car I am thinking of buying has ML written on the bottom near to the cassett player, I was just disappointed with the sound. Thanks everyone. I will keep you posted after negotiations with the dealer.
  9. Good afternoon everyone. I am totally confused but then again as I get older it seems to get worse. But, are there two different systems of Mark Levinson audio system fitted to the 450h and if there is how on earth do you tell the difference. I have seen cars advertised with a 10 speaker system and others with a Mark Leveinson audio on different se-l of the same year and month. I have listened to a number of systems fitted to different 450h's and the sound is always the same....thin with very little base, I have adjusted the base and treble but with little noticeable difference. Sop if anyone can throw oany light on the subject....Thanks a lot
  10. Well, I think we have found the car I will buy, before I do if I May I will tell you the deal and wait for comments. The car is an Oct 06 (56 plate)GS450H SE with sunroof in Messe red mileage is 44000 with a full Lexus service history. The car looks clean with a few chips around the front but nothing bad. Price £18990 and the part exchange on my present car is acceptable. What do you guys think of the deal and the purchase price, good, bad, average? Should I snatch the dealers hand off or walk away. Never bought a Lexus before so asking for advise from more people with more experience than I have. I f I have a concern it is the mileage a little above the average. Thanks again Hard to say about the price - I bought mine in April, 23 Months old with 47k - and paid 500 more. Mine is an SE without sunroof. For me it is a little expensive - the main warranty runs out this month - Is it a lexus direct car and do you get the 12 month lexus warranty? Paul Yes it is a Lexus direct car from a Lexus dealer and I was offered an extended 12 months warranty in addition to the 12 months warranty if and when I buy the car...so in affect giving me 2 years warranty in total. the 12 months addition warranty was offered at £220 as part of an incentive to buy.

  14. Thanks to everyone for the invaluable advice and comments......my conclusion is that the boot size is not a deal breaker, we will go ahead and purchase.
  15. I have a 450h of the same vintage. I moved from an Avensis with a cavernous boot. It all depends on what you regularly do. We find that the boot is the similair to a small hatchaback. like a fiesta or maybe even a focus. Sometimes some additional though is required when planning a trip, but we have never found it to be an issue. For all the other rewards of the car the boot can be at most, a minor inconvenience. If you are buying from a lexus centre, why not see if you can book a 24hr test drive in a new 450h and see how it goes? Paul Thanks Paul for your comments. We will take your advice and try to arrange a 24 hour test with our local Lexus dealer here in Chester. Roy
