  1. The pump on the left was £20 OEM at auction but nothing stamped on the body. Centre one is the packered one off my LS MK3 with Toyota part number which Lexus Newcastle quoted £70 + vat. Other one is from the local auto shop £10. The spade fittings were smaller but thats an easy mod. They're just a pull push fit into the rubber grommet on the washer bottle.
  2. The seals may be like this so will need renewing. The bolts are a pain to undo (steel bolts into Ali) so extreme care needed. From the bulkhead to the condenser behind the radiator all the pipes and joints can be seen so you may be able to pinpoint the leak. Check under the battery box as it can rub and erode the pipe. A/C fitters use glasses and a UV torch to see leaks. Chemical metals etc will not work.
  3. This is in my MK2 GS, hope it gives a bit of an insight into the wiring. There is an after market amp in the boot. Its a double din Kenwood DNV 5220 BT which was in the car when I bought it. These pics were taken when Autosounds in Newcastle removed the unit to fix the USB and iPod connections for which they charged £25...very reasonable.
  4. The radio code is normally the last three digits of the chassis number.
  5. I came across many different size centre caps for LS (Lexus) wheels when looking for some when I had my LS 2 or 3 years ago. My MK2 GS300 with 6 spoke optional 17" alloys made by OZ has centre caps like this with the ringed 'L' emblem chromed.
  6. This is a DHP 17" alloy and centre cap is 55mm dia and 20mm deep with 'O' ring. Stamped on the inside of the wheel and centre cap is: OZ, CRSA, M514, PZ-406-FO670-1. I've posed this question before: Do Toyota make standard wheels and OZ make optional wheels. The GS430 wheels I've seen in adverts seem to be either 5 or 7 spoke alloys.
  7. Do you do this with the ignition ON or OFF. Thx.
  8. For the windscreen. On the right a new pump from local Auto Shop £12. On the left new 'after market' from auction £20 inc P&P. Middle the original packed up pump £70 plus vat from Lexus. I cant remember now but look in the manual to see if the same fuse covers wipers and washers.
  9. All the windows and roof will open if you press and hold the fob button and vise versa to close them. You may just have held the button a tad too long.
  10. I had an annoying rattle from the sunroof area, the screws under the sun glasses holder were tight, so carefully prised the courtesy light cover off and the two screws in there were loose so put washers on them, tightened them up and noise gone. Yes, you're right,so simple, so satisfying.
  11. Another Courier. www.parcel2go.com and you enter details, size, weight etc and they suggest a list of well known carriers. Apparently about half price to RM.
  12. I recently queried Paisley Freight and they wanted bubble and cardboard wrappped on the wheels. In fact they wanted every thing wrapped or palleted and shrunk wrapped. As its been said on this post its probably insurance. I think they wanted £40 for 17" wheels, £30 for 16". And again its been said here about how many times its handled. A couple of years ago I ordered 3 things from 3 different places and it came the next day on the same van.
  13. If its any help this one's on ebay. 01254 249783 www.directcouriersolutions.co.uk
  14. That does look like a nice example. Thanks for the link. Looks like MK3 seats. We've seen cars on here before with MK3 trim and MK4 body. Were the factory using up old stock at the model change.
  15. I had DHP wheels on the MK3 I had a couple of years ago. I have a spare set of DHP's and they have tapered bolt holes and 19mm bolts, where as the optional wheels on my MK2 GS has flat (parallel)bolt holes and 21mm bolts. Thread size is the same. Both sets of wheels are made by OZ. Make sure you get the bolts if you buy a used set of wheels. The DHP's have wide low profile tyres, I prefer the 225/55/17's I've got on the GS 2x Conti and 2 x Goodyear.
  16. Hope this helps as I have 2 sets of optional wheels made by OZ with Lexus stamped inside and they take different bolts as can be seen in the picture. The tapered bolt with 19mm head fits the 17" DHP's and the other one with 21mm head fits the alloys on my MK2 GS 300. The different wheels are shown in 'help...near side rear shocker' on the GS forum.
  17. Tuscany Flame and Raven Black trim. It's solid red and I agree it's looks the part along with the bodywork being in excellent nick and 17" Lexus optional wheels. The interior is immaculate, now with 83,000mls, 78 on when I bought it for £1400 and had it 10 months now. You'll never believe it ,but pulling out of my street this afternoon another one the same colour, came the other way with practically the same reg, an 'S' with two numbers and the same letters.
  18. I think we're the same as most, with poor potholed roads and humps which I treat with caution as the LS I had a couple of years ago had two broken springs but both were right at the top and hard to see without a torch. This one was the very end (about an inch) at the bottom of the coil which had broken off and was missing.
  19. On the subject of wheels, both wheels shown are optional( I think) to standard Lexus wheels. When I bought this car there was a 16" 5 spoke spare which I thought was standard to the car from new but if I put the reg into a tyre site it comes up with 235/45R/17 Z90. The rear wheels(I have four) in the pic are fitted with 225/50/17 and ride very comfortably. The DHP wheels as shown on the front have 255/45 x2 and 245/40 x2 and not to my taste ride wise. Might swap the tyres and leave the DHP's on. The 16" spare is stamped Toyota and the wheels on the car have near identical markings ie, OZ made in EU/Italy, PZ-405-50670-ZD and PZ-405-FO-670Z. Just wonder if OZ make Lexus optionals and Toyota make standard wheels.
  20. Sorted. Car now has a full MOT with a replacement shocker supplied by Heartland Spares,Birmingham, through 1st Choice Spares cost £45 inc. Excellent service and would use them again. There was 5 available up to £85. Fitted for £30 plus £46 MOT at my regular garage with no advisaries. Just thought I'd put my LS DHP wheels on and I'm quite pleased how they look. Didn't think they would suit the GS( should have put the centre cap on to finish it off). If nowt else it would save buying tyres!
  21. Has anyone got,or know of, a near side rear shocker or coil spring for a MK2 GS300 SE. The bottom inch on the spring is broken and missing so it will fail the MOT which is due in 3 weeks. Complete shocker would be straight forward swap eliminating the dangerous compressing of the spring. Any other Lexus spring fit, ie, Lexus MK1 GS or IS200 maybe???. There are 2 or 3 MK2's for breaking on ebay so will try them as well. Nowt up here in the scrappies. Thanks.
  22. Item number: 320944812493 This is on e..y near Pontefract so a nice run out and not too far for you.
  23. No...not easy then!! I forgot to say earlier to disconnect the battery before doing any electric welding on the car. Not appropiate now but best of luck with the repair.
