  1. If you know the bushes have been in since new then set the torque wrench to a lowish figure and try tightening them until the wrench doesn't break and you're pretty much there.
  2. Do as Colin Barber and k33rjd. Look under the bonnet and, as on mine, there may be a yellow sticker/warning spelling out how to recode the key from a low or flat battery or disconnected battery situation
  3. Pair of Lexus mirrors on Gumtree in the NE area. Not sure of the year. Just checked the ad. Seaham Co. Durham 2001 car. Seller 07754475789. I have NO connection with this person.
  4. "Chattering" I've heard it called. What about the top mount under the suspension turret?.
  5. As far as TPMS is concerned the ECU is situated on top of the Sat/Nav unit. Plenty Utubes to show how. It's pretty straight forward and If I can find it then so can others.
  6. I started this post months ago and finally have the TPMS sorted and working along with a new MOT. Decided to have both done at the same time and get the car back to how it should be. I still think the TPMS is a right unnecessary expensive faff but after all this time I couldn't find a bypass that would disable the system and not set the car on fire. My regular garage has just geared himself up with TPMS kit so did the job and MOT for £120. I needed 3 sensors as there was a replacement OE-R Ersatz fitted by the previous owner. Lexus OEM sensors are Pacific but I bought OE-R Ersatz as I knew these worked with the Lexus system. They came from Carparts Warehouse in Ayr 07790 015 888, Colin Guinea dealt with the sale in a friendly and informative manner, they came next day, ready coded, with the code printed on the box for £30 each +P&P £2.50. Instruction sheet was included and any problem ring him and he'd go through the procedure. Car passed MOT without advisories, no lights on the dash so I'm more than pleased with the result. Thanks for all the help with this ongoing saga and Britprius who fixed his with new batteries which I tried, soldering in new tagged batteries but no luck there. I must stress that I have no connection with the above company but recommend them.
  7. That's reassuring but I will check them in the near future and report back. Thanks
  8. That's the first time I've heard of VVTI Micro filters on the oil feed to the cams. Could you give me more info and I'll do mine. On Wheeler Dealers Edd China did a job on a Honda VTEC that had a gunged up small filter in the camshaft area of the engine which was stopping the VTEC working properly. Am I on the right track here or not even warm.
  9. A lot of indies equipment (Snap-on, Autel, etc) wont show the full scope of certain makes and models. In my experience BMW, Merc and VW wouldn't show certain sensors and had to go to specialists who pay for the privilege of being plugged into the makers system
  10. Hi Steve, Furniture Clinic have an impressive web site. I hadn't heard of them before and they're only about 20 minutes from me. May have a run over once the lockdown is over and they get back to normal
  11. Hello Lee, where in Northumberland are you. I'm in Washington. I've got a 55 GS300 102,000 mls, silver/black and fresh mot if you don't get fixed up.
  12. Thanks for the input. I had to leave my PC straight after posting this but thought " one more go" so turned on the ignition, engine off, got in the back with all doors shut pressed the button down, nowt, tried it up and the window went up. I know Lexus are good but are they magic. Anyhow, problem solved, leave well alone. MOT this Thursday, will report back.
  13. My drivers side passenger window is stuck halfway down. All the other windows work, I haven't disconnected or re connected anything, just hoovering the car before it's MOT on Thursday. I've tried the door button up and down and the main control on the drivers door, switching the lock button on and off but none of the combinations work. I've seen the "up hold/down " re-learning procedure but the window doesn't move what ever I try. Is there a separate fuse for each window as I'm struggling to find the fuse box as per the manual in each footwell and the trim seems to need removing to get at the boot fuses. Do I need to take off the door card and maybe jump the wiring to get the window up as a temp measure. Thanks.
  14. What size are the wheels please. I have a 55 reg GS300 so need to know if they'll fit. Reserve price on them please?. Thanks
  15. A lot of work and expenditure involved there. Did you use all OEM parts. Hope it drives straight and true.
  16. I'm pretty sure these cap are the ones I have in the garage. I think its probably nearer 7/8 years since I sold this one.
  17. This was in very good nick when I sold it with a fresh MOT to a man from Largs in Scotland possibly 10/12 years ago. I picked them up from Newcastle Central and they drove it home.
  18. My very first Lexus. MK3 LS400 which came with DHP alloys. They look good on this MK as well
  19. Harry at North Car near Penshaw Monument behind the Prospect pub opposite Herrington Park 5845699. I've used him for about 20 years now. BTW I'm in Washington, where are you. Jim
  20. The odd few MK2 GS 300's sometimes turn up with these wheels on. Nice looking wheel and the DHP's look good on the GS as well
  21. There you are take your pick of another Lexus optional wheel. Both these are made by OZ in Italy. Front is DHP shown without the centre cap. I need my wrist slapping for doing that. The centre caps are still in my garage to this day. The car and wheels are long gone. Some where in my photos I have a picture of the inside of the rim showing all the wheel details. The DHP's went to a lad from Liverpool who used this site some years ago. The rear's went with the car years ago.
  22. There's 4 x DHP alloys on ebay..Item No. 264704872907. There's also 1 x brand new DHP alloy Item No. 153733200783 I have no connection with these sellers.
  23. Could you use an exhaust clamp on that arm and pass the bracket under it to secure it or drill a hole in the flat part and pass the "U" bolt leg through it to secure it.
  24. Upper Suspension arms Edd fitted, Mike got off the internet, were £350 the pair
  25. Car started ok this morning so put it back on charge 9.00am till 4.00pm. Hopefully that's it sorted.
